March 17th,
9:13 AM.
Emily's house.
Matt was sitting down on Emily's sofa, right next to Alex. She was in the kitchen, preparing something for Matt, who hasn't eaten in days.
"Maaan... We got lucky, huh, Alex. Her parents are at work."
"Yeah..."
As Matt was scrolling through his phone, he came across his messages. He had 37 unread ones from his dad. He hovered above his dad's profile picture for a second, wondering if he should read them or not.
He then decided that he didn't feel like crying again right now, and he was gonna check them later.
He put his phone back in his pocket, and looked over to Alex.
"Hey, buddy... Aren't you bored? You've just been sitting there for a while."
"H-Huh? Oh, I'm fine... When I was back in the Motherland, this was normal..."
"But, right now, you're not in your oh so beloved motherland. So, let's get this TV on."
Matt looked for the remote, but when he couldn't find it, he sighed a bit, then Matt'ed it. Y'all know what I mean.
After glowing purple for a second or two, it turned on.
"...-ow, moving on to local news. A man has been found dead, murdered in his own house. Anderson Ender, a forty one year old man, was seemingly murdered last night, only to be discovered by one of his sons, Anderson Patt. Yes, coincidentally, this is the same Anderson family that The Reaper, Matt, belongs to."
Matt got up, and went over to the TV, and manually switched the channel to cartoons.
"...Well. Here you go, Alex."
"T-Thank you, but... I'm... Sorry..."
"It's fine. I'm gonna go talk to Emily, you just watch... Uhh, the fuck's this... Ah, Adventure Time. I loved this one. Anyways, enjoy."
"Thanks."
Matt then walked to the kitchen, and closed the door behind him. Emily looked at him, then scolded him.
"Language, Matt."
"Oh, y'heard that? Sorry, slipped out..."
"Ugh, you're impossible..."
Matt nodded in agreement, then looked behind her.
"I never took you for a cook, to be honest..."
"When your Agily is the perfect thing for a kitchen, you learn a thing or two, no?"
"Is there anything you can't do?"
She looked at him, then back to the food she was cooking.
"Well, I can name a few things."
"Care to elaborate?"
"Nah, not really."
After Matt sighed, and let out a "For real...?", he sat down on a chair nearby.
"Uh, what're you doing?"
"I'm bored. My phone's dead."
"You're... Well, you. There's no way it's dead."
"Then... I don't like the cartoons that Alex's watching."
"I heard you say that you loved them."
"...No, I didn't..."
Emily put down the knife that she was holding, looked at Matt, and leaned on the counter that was right next to her, on her right.
"Then to what do I owe the pleasure of you entertaining me?"
"Oho? Just being in my presence is that much of a pleasure to you?"
Emily's hand slipped off the counter, then after quickly regaining her footing, she went back to cooking while slightly blushing.
"Y-You asshole..."
"I'll take that as a yes, then."
Matt then heard a snicker from somewhere.
"Hey... Did you hear that?"
"Hmm? No, I didn't hear anything."
He then looked around, and saw that the kitchen door was open.
"Ahh... I see now...", Matt thought to himself.
He picked up his phone, and texted Emily.
[yo dont react to this but alex is invisible in the room lmao]
Emily heard a little "Ding!", then picked up her phone. A smile appeared on her face, and she quickly tapped her screen a few times.
[lolol no way
is he spying on us??]
[idk mayb
ywanna prank him?]
[sure sure. how tho]
Matt then got quite the evil plan, then texted it to Emily.
When Emily checked her phone, she almost dropped it in shock, and almost screamed as well. In an, uh, good way? After letting out a "No way...", she messaged him back.
[fuck, fine. why me tho]
[cuz im too embarrassed to do it]
[and you think i wont be...?]
[das the plan]
After Emily sighed, hesitated, sighed, and hesitated again, she finally put her phone down. She then went over to Matt, pulled him up from his chair, stuck him against the wall and kissed him.
Yeah, well, actually no. Unfortunately for all of us, it ain't that type of story... Emily just barely missed Matt's mouth.
After staying like that for 0.25 seconds, a big and audible "Oohhh..." could be heard from a corner.
"Heh... Gotcha! Two times in a row!"
Matt raised his hand towards the corner, set his power as low as possible, and shot.
And, once again, Alex was caught and electrocuted. It was very minimal this time though, calm down.
When the bolt hit him, his invisibility wore off, and he let out an "Ouch!"
A bright red Emily quickly got away from Matt, and he went over to Alex and pat his head.
"C'mon now, don't spy on us, lil' man."
"S-Sorry... You two are always close, so I thought..."
Matt then crouched down to meet Alex's height.
"Well, unfortunately, you thought wrong. Don't spy on us, 'kay? If you wanna talk with us, do it while we can, y'know, see you."
Emily chuckled from behind them.
"Oh? 'Unfortunately', you say?"
"W-Wait, shit, no... I, uh..."
Emily smiled at them, then held up two plates.
"Let's go eat, no?"
She walked past the two, and then Matt looked at Alex and whispered to him.
"And, y'see, she's a master at switching the subject..."
"Sure am!", yelled out Emily from the other room.
"She's also some kinda superhero with that hearing of hers... Well, anyways, let's go eat! I'm starving."
The three then all went to eat together.
This was definitely a nice little distraction for Matt. So much so, that he forgot all about the letter, and the journal. But, it's not like they're going anywhere.
But... We are. Let's go check in with our favorite "hero", shall we?
9:34 AM.
The opposite side of town, a random street.
There he is, in all his glory. Well, it's not really glory, but whatever. Jinn was just walking casually on whichever streets he saw, no direction, no destination. Just... Walking.
But, why was he walking? Why was he skipping school?
Well, there was one reason.
Excitement.
Kinko Jinn, for the first time in who knows how long, was feeling excited.
So excited that he couldn't just stay in one place. He had to move around, talk a lot, stuff like that. He felt like he could stay awake for days on end at how good this felt!
He longed for this feeling so much, and now it was finally his!
But... It's been a few hours... So, it was slowly but surely decreasing. Well, that didn't matter. He could just do it again! And the feeling would come right back!
Ah, sorry, I didn't mention it, did I? The reason why he was so excited.
Hahaha, that's simple.
Kinko Jinn had murdered Anderson Ender.
He broke into their house at midnight, destroyed everything that Matt ever cared for, and when Ender came downstairs to check what the hell was happening at such an hour, he stabbed him in the side with a knife. He dragged him into his bedroom with his Agily, threw him onto his own bed, and left him to bleed out and die.
After the whole house was thrashed, he sat down at Ender's desk, wrote a letter addressed to Matt, and put it somewhere that was sure to be seen.
His now dead father's hand. He was sure Matt would get there before the police. So sure, that he even signed it with his name and signature on the inside, while on the outside there was a simple 'A.M.' written on it, which stood for Anderson Matt.
Yeah. And now, he was basically high on this feeling. The feeling of taking someone's life...
It was awesome! He never felt so full, so incredible, so splendid! He just had to experience it again at some point! He was already thinking of ways to kill, when he hadn't even picked a victim!
But, that was just a small fry... He was aiming for a big catch. Why yes, Anderson Matt himself! His father wasn't enough! He wanted Matt, the one who defeated and humiliated him in battle!
And he wanted him now! But... He had to wait. Patience would be his best friend, but also his worst enemy, because he wasn't a person who enjoyed waiting. He already knew that whenever Matt opened and read that letter, he would come to Jinn himself.
After all... That letter...
It contained, in extremely accurate and high detail, the death of his father, his expressions, his last words... Absolutely everything.
He now just had to wait for Matt to read it, and come challenge him again. He could barely wait~
But now, he was absolutely prepared. The real, sharp katana on his waist confirmed that.
He laughed a bit to himself.
"Hahahahaha... Hahaha! Come on, Reaper! Let us re-meet! Let me kill you, with my own two goddamn hands! Then I'll kill the girl and take the kid! Hahahaha!"
Jinn laughed some more after that.
Then, a mother and her little kid passed by him.
"Mommy, mommy, that boy read way too much manga... He's a loser..."
"Don't point, Sully. That's very rude."
Hmph! Such trivial thing mattered not to Jinn. He started walking again, without destination. He was still high on this... This feeling of killing.
Yeah, I think we're already clear on what's happening.
This guy... This guy was in no way the hero of this story.
