"Rescuing these dogs wasn't easy, the SheHerdPower Foundation had to pay those Australian butchers more than the price of a new racing dog to have them lay down their knives and hand the dogs over to the volunteers. Then they arranged for veterinarians to treat their injuries before bringing them to the United States, where they hired dog trainers to teach them how to communicate normally with humans. They are very smart, now each one can understand at least thirty words, but when we rescued them, they could only understand 'Go'."
