Tang Yu, exhausted from a day's work, dragged himself home to find nobody there except for the black cat meowing.
Normally, Tang Yu would have the energy to play with his beloved pet, but right now he felt hollow inside, haunted by the day's criticisms from his boss and the break-up text from his girlfriend.
"Tang Yu, after being together for two years, you really lack ambition. You don't know how to charm your superiors; what's the use of just burying yourself in work? I see no future with you, let's break up."
Tang Yu sighed, truly unable to engage in the repulsive act of pleasing such an immoral boss.
He glanced over at a brass tripod sitting on top of the TV stand, palm-sized, engraved with inexplicable patterns.
"If only you could be sold for a good price," Tang Yu shook his head helplessly.
