The time seemed to go faster. Normally, in this situation time would move faster but for a phoenix the present was nothing but a fleeting past.
Over the horizon, a dark fog was eating up everything. Although, at a casual glance it seemed to be without a physical state, 'it' destroyed everything within 20 feet of it and this existence was slowly coming closer. There were different creatures running from 'it'. Running to a safety that was non-existent. Some had already realized their fate while others decided to hope. But for all these beings their one miracle was staring at it. The fire phoenix spread out its wings and slowly morphed into a humanoid form with feathers covering his whole body excluding his face. There was a deafening sound as lightning struck next to where he was standing and a being appeared there.
[You didn't bring the dragons?]
The being asked in a heavy voice that sounded unnatural. Time had stopped moving but the fog was still progressing. The being had a dark form with a bluish aura around him.
"They are too weak to fight 'it'." The phoenix replied. He carried a solemn and sad expression.
[Your house is close to where it began. Did Arya…] the figure stopped speaking after feeling a tinge of killing intent from the phoenix. He flinched a little but seemed to remain calm. [The favor from the other world's master is still there.]
The phoenix slowly nodded. "You know what we have to do, right?" He asked staring calmly at 'it'.
[Tch. Of course!] The being said as if he was offended.
"Can you save them, both?" the phoenix asked looking hopefully.
[Unfortunately, I can only save one dead person.]
"Save her then." The phoenix said and changed back into its original form. It's body was embedded in a fiery glow and the wings spread to the sides with each one being about 10 feet long. It gave a loud screech and flew up. The 'being looked at the bird for a minute.
[The living will continue living.]
The being continued still staring at the phoenix.
[But you will die if you do this.]
The being said in a resolute voice. The fiery bird continued staring at the fog which was now a few hundred feet away. After a bit of hesitation, the bird screeched and flew directly into the center of the fog. The being who was left alone shook his head and his body began disintegrating into small light particles. The creatures were still frozen as time had stopped moving and the being's figure slowly disappeared. The bird didn't come out of the fog which was still progressing and time had still stopped moving. After some time the fog dissipated but no bird came out of it.
When the fog was fully vanished all the creatures of the destroyed world fell the ground, each one dead and unmoving.
