Chapter 54 - Ethereal Life, Chapter 54: Destructive Ability Awakens! Dark Fog From The Horizon!

Nai wore another set of clothes after that. It seems the jump just now and the follow-up event that happened have thrown away the dripping water on his hair and skin dry.

Sitting on a log, Acacia by his side, who had already calmed down a bit, albeit with shock in her eyes, said "H-husband? Did you cause this?"

Nai nodded. There's no need to deny it. Well, he really wanted to play dumb and act like he wasn't the cause of that to see her reaction, but he felt it was too tiring, so he goes against that.

"H-ow?" There's a tremble in her voice. Nai can understand that as if it were him, seeing a human being crack the earth and make a basin pit alone.

Not to mention standing, he might even run away in fear of being killed on the spot if he angers such an inhuman being. "How can a human have that kind of power? Is what you think right?"

Naturally, it was on anyone's mind if it did happen. Acacia hesitated for a bit. Looking at Nai, who didn't seem angry or annoyed, she nodded while biting her lips somewhat nervously.

Who knew if her husband would suddenly flip up the table and throw her away like a water bag? Well, she got lucky that no table was in front of them.

Not to mention, "I'm an acceptor, remember? Garut can do this too if he is given enough time and opportunity."

He suddenly thought of something after saying that, as he suddenly gave his wife an ambiguous look. "Our child might become an accepter in the future. He can at least do this thing too. So...become used to it."

Strange, though, thinking of her husband's words. She suddenly thought of her children in the future. As strong as her husband. Able to protect themselves from harm.

Cracking the ground and caving in the land. She suddenly shuddered further down. The thought of having the ground shake with their every jump suddenly made her quiver in panic and fear.

"I think, can they not become an accepter? They might destroy the house every time that happens."

Nai laughed, and he lifted her in a princess carry before kissing her lovely lips. Just a peck, though, as he said, "Remember to mouthwash with water in the pond every morning. It seems you forgot it today."

Shamefully, Acacia, who was feeling butterflies in her stomach, suddenly curled up to hide her reddened face in Nai's embrace. "I-I-I."

"Hahahahaha. Well, I'll forgive you today. But tonight, my hand and tongue won't." Nai suddenly thought of something mischievous.

He neared her ears and whispered softly; the ambiguous atmosphere around the two immediately turned pinker than usual. "Well, we'll take a bath together in the afternoon."

If his past self saw this scene, he would surely punch the hell out of his face. Such embarrassing lines; can't you just say something casual?

...

It was midday, and the sun had already let out colors that made one feel lethargy. It's afternoon nap time. Nai, who was about to fall asleep above the pillar, suddenly noticed something from afar.

He didn't know if it was his imagination, but he seemed to see clouds from far away. No, there's no way the clouds would go as low as the ground.

"Those are fogs. I had a bad feeling about this." He stood up and climbed down the scaffolding. Walking towards the racks, not far away.

There are spears and axes on standby. It's for preparation for something unexpected. "I won't leave my castle, but I can inform them of danger."

Gripping a spear from the rack. He took some charcoal and painted its two bars black on its handle.

He put the charcoal to the side as he started making stances as he walked forward, facing the Creek Village.

"Garut, tell everyone that there might be danger. Prepare for yourself and the others." With a stomp forward, the power of his arms bulged, and with a bow from sky and earth.

The stone spear was thrown in a flash like a shadow, leaving only its tail behind as it left his grip, piercing forward.

Boom! Rippp!

A sonic boom rang in the air; the sound of ripping air scratched his ears. The bullet-like spear flew away in a parabola, giving the impression of a meteorite passing through the sky before falling towards earth, ready to cause an impact on its surface.

Thud

Baam!

The villagers were jolted awake by the sudden commotion in the village center, where the creek water splashes midair.

"Ahhhh!"

"What's going on?"

"Did you see something fall from the sky just now?"

"I saw it, really!"

A man walked forward and took something from the muddy water. He gave it to Garut, who had arrived later.

Garut, who received it, saw what it was, and his expression immediately changed. "A broken stone spear with two lines of charcoal drawn on its handle."

He turned around with a solemn face as he shouted with a serious expression they seldom see on him. "Everyone, the ruler has just passed on the message. There might be danger coming towards us."

"What kind of danger?" Someone asked as everybody suddenly felt gloom envelope their surroundings. The afternoon sun seems to emit not relaxing warmth but painful sunburns.

Garut shook his head as he raised his hand for everyone to calm down. "Take everyone in the village and go hide towards the castle. Take the weapons with you."

"Grandpa, what's happening?" Grandson asked somewhat scared.

Garut patted his grandson's head as he said, "Nothing, just some punching bag, maybe?".

Then he turned around and said, "Leave the unnecessary things behind. As long as the danger is solved, we can always return."

Hearing this, the villagers who were packing up looked at each other and then at the huge, wide building not far away.

Their eyes immediately regained their confidence and calmness. The panic subsided but did not completely disappear.

"That's right, that spear just now came from the ruler." That means the ruler will protect us; we're safe."

"The ruler is strong; if not, how could he throw such a spear from such a massive distance away?"

Everyone just realized that they had underestimated Nai, the self-proclaimed ruler. Garut looked in deep thought as he sighed at Nai's growth.

"How can he become so strong that fast? Is it the miracle water?"

Three men walked forward and immediately told him what they saw in the distance. "A fog came from the horizon. We thought it was clouds from afar, but it seems to be moving towards us every few seconds."

"That might be the danger, Leader. What should we do?"

"Go to the castle with the others. Let's go." Garut immediately took the others with him, as they had left everything temporarily.

In the end, it is their lives that are more important than the things around them. They can always come back after the issues are solved.

"Alright."

Garut turned around as he looked at the horizon. The somewhat gray clouds seem to hide a beast inside them as they slowly creep their way to their place.

The sun shining above even seems to highlight the darkness within. The fog churned as it consumed everything in the dark.

Once again wanting to blanket the whole grassland in its dark fogs. "The kinds— no. The slimes are coming back! Move faster!"

"There's going to be a battle. This time, I will let them have a taste of what it is to be pierced by a spear bathed in miracle water all day!" Garut sneered, looking far away.

He had it enough; those days were when he fought hardly an unkillable slime for a few hours. In the end, it wasn't killed. He even found out that it was the weakest of the bunch!

The forgotten anger in his heart surged, seemingly wanting to pierce everything to pieces. "I'll get my revenge this time. At the same time, leave my legend for my descendants to praise!"

"Grandpa! I want to fight too!"

"Men! Prepare the spear bath with miracle water. Even though you're not an accepter, as a man, You ought to fight!" Garut raised his spear as he shouted his battle cry.

"Tell me you can also kill those monsters to death!"

"Kill!" The men suddenly felt it was their moment to shine. Hot blood pumped out of their reckless hearts; the anger of the powerless surged and turned into courage that made them brave the unknowns head-on.

They can also fight! Nevertheless, just for throwing weapons at the back.

"Grandson, remember to watch and learn. Only strength reigns supreme!"

...

Nai stood outside his castle foundation. The villagers hid at the back, where a temporary mud house could accommodate them.

"Now that everyone is here, The sun will set in an hour or so. At that time, the fog will draw near." He pointed at the logs not far away.

"Make some fire!"
