Chapter 3 - LSSO

After eating, Camilla took the dishes to the kitchen, and came back to seat in the dining room where a conversation had already begun.

"Your sister told us about today's match, you know you shouldn't have had a match today right?" Sapphire, Aden's mother started.

"I know, it's just… he was persisting, and he even said I didn't want to because I would be getting my LSS tomorrow, saying I was scared that he will beat me this time. I didn't know he had already obtained his." Aden replied.

"We should leave that for now." Rick, Aden's father said. "How about tomorrow… what time did you say you were to arrive at the place?"

"I know you are worried dad, but stop acting like you forgot… its twelve pm sharp anyway." Aden said.

"Okay… and I hope you inputted your correct details there?"

"Yes, I did. I am going to my room now; I need to get adequate sleep for tomorrow you know."

Leaving those words, Aden left to his room, and locked his room door.

Yes, since the organization meant to be assigning the LSSs only did it once every month, one had to register as part of the ones to be acquiring their LSS that month, and also leave their important details like birth date and name.

Some people had tried to get their LSS before the age required, age 18, so the organization will just check the database of the people's said city, to confirm their birth date.

That meant, anyone who wasn't registered by his/her parents since birth in the city database would face a lot of trouble before acquiring the LSS, while some may not even obtain theirs and will die at age 20. Luckily, cases like those weren't rampant anymore.

He thought about the things he would do in the two years before going to the LSSA when he clocks twenty… his birthday is the 23rd of Martx anyway.

In one year, there are ten months.

Janarx

Febrx

Martx

Prilx

Junnx

Agux

Temx

Tobex

Dembex

In each month, there are five weeks, and in each week, there are six days, so that totals the days up to 300 in a month.

'Forget about those two years, what would I do when I finish the two years of fully learning LSS?' I thought.

'Maybe I should apply for one of those human only academies that help in mastering the racial skills. Oh… I almost forgot, I am unable to use my racial ability.'

Sometimes, Aden wished the universe wasn't so harsh on him, and he wished so now as he slowly drifted into sleep.

*knock* *knock*

"Aden, it's almost ten... get up from sleep. How could you sleep for so long today?" Sapphire's voice hardly permeated through the door, but Aden was woken up anyway.

"What! 9:27! How did I sleep till this time?" Aden opened the door with energy, like he didn't just wake up from sleep.

"I'm already awake mum; I guess I was really tired. I have to go get ready now… be down soon." Aden said and closed the door, then moved to the bathroom.

"You woke up late today. You could have missed the event and had to wait till the next month, we all thought you were getting ready upstairs since you didn't come down until we noticed the time was running late." Rick said as Aden arrived at the sitting room.

"I was too tired from yesterday dad, and I really need to get going now so bye." Aden left the house.

Aden likes to usually skip conversations with his family, most especially his parents, because he knew he was causing a lot of problems in their lives by just living with them, but they were willing to withstand.

'I'll make sure to repay them back in any way possible, though I'm not sure since they are my parents, and it seems sort of normal from them.'

As this world was one of a mixture of technology and magic, Aden entered different teleportation circles before getting to the building where Life Sustainers were obtained.

The name of the organization in charge of assigning systems to individuals was just the Life Sustaining System Organization, LSSO which was more or less a part of the light realm's government as t took care of a crucial part of the light realm's existence.

The place was guarded by large and tall black walls, with one large black gate in the middle guarded by humanoid beings with glowing dark red scales as their skin, long and sharp red scaled tails and red eyes.

This race, as already known to everyone before were dragons, one of the most naturally strongest races in the universe, which meant the place was so well guarded that not even one entity could be seen in the periphery without some business that has to do with the building.

As known, the only races allowed to be in the organization as staff or anyone important to the organization were the dragon race, the giant race and the fairy race, as already mandated by the previous light realm leaders.

As Aden approached the large gate, one of the guards turned to look at him.

"State your business here." The guard stated.

Aden brought out some kind of means of identification from his storage bracelet and said;

"I am here to acquire my Life Sustaining System."

The guard took the form of identification from him and inspected it. After confirming it was real, he returned it to Aden and said to follow him.

Aden diligently did as he was told, as the gate was opened and he and the guard passed through. Immediately den passed through the gate, it closed shut.

Now inside the building compound, Aden was mesmerized with what he saw.

Different blue tower like structures were placed randomly in the compound with white vein like lines running through them, randomly, these veins pulsed and changed to red, before changing back to white.

Just the sight of that alone was captivating, but there were much more things that were pleasing to the eye.

"So all this was hidden in here!" Aden couldn't help but exclaim in awe.

'But how did I not see this when I first came?'

Aden came to this particular place when he wanted to register as part of the people that would obtain their LSSs at the end of the month.

'That means some kind of magic is in play here, as expected.' Aden thought.

The building, of course, was extremely tall, even taller than the tower like structures in the surroundings, as it was said to have 100 floors.

Following the guard, they both entered into a teleportation circle in front of a semi-transparent wall of the building, and after some seconds, they arrived at the other side.

The ground floor which is the first floor seemed to be a reception area of some sort, with different counters manned by female fairies located around.

At the very back of the large room, Aden spotted a person just randomly appearing at a particular spot, so he guessed there was a teleportation circle that leads to the upper floor there.

The guard pointed him to the counter right in the middle of the other counters and said;

"Explain your reason for coming here to the fairy behind the counter." He then left.

Aden approached the fairy and said when he got close enough to her counter.

"Hello ma'am."

She rose her head up and looked at Aden with a scrutinizing gaze before speaking.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

"I am here to obtain my LSS please." Aden took out the form of identification, like a magic scroll and showed it to the lady.

She did some things with it and dropped it someplace beside her and said;

"Mr. Aden cross, you arrived late… you are the last person to show up for today's schedule."

"Yeah, some issues came up."

"Luckily for you, you still met the others, so you can go join them and wait over there." She pointed to a corner in the room.

"Thank you." Aden said and left the counter.

Due to the massiveness of the room, Aden didn't notice the group of people sited at the East corner of the room where the fairy receptionist pointed at. He went there and sat on an empty space, ignoring the others, as the reciprocated the action.

There were five people left, excluding him that hadn't obtained their LSS. They were three girls and two boys, with both boys being of the elf race, and two of the girls being fairies with one girl being of the elf race, he was the only human in the group.

After about ten minutes, a human boy appeared from the teleportation circle and went to meet the fairy Aden was previously with.

'Seems like she is the one in charge of the ones who want to acquire their LSS,' Aden thought.

The boy raised his palm to the lady, probably showing her the mark that all system holders have, and she nodded before speaking unknown words to him. He then nodded and left the building.

The receptionist walked towards us with a list in her hand, and then on getting to our front, she said;

"Janelle Olson?"

The only elf girl stood up to answer the receptionist fairy.

"Follow me," the fairy voiced out.

They walked to the teleportation circle at the back and conversed a bit before the Elf girl stepped into the teleportation circle.
