Chapter 1 - A cheater

I was clutching tight to the wedding dress, my knuckles has turned white as I heard the distinct moans. The door was slightly ajar and I was able to peer through it.

"...tomorrow is the wedding." Vera moaned with her legs wrapped around his torso.

"It's not important, what's important is being with you." He spoke passionately into her ears.

"C'mon Scott, pity the poor girl."

I crumpled the wedding dress in my hands, I wanted to run out of the apartment or go into the room.

I hurried down here to show her my wedding dress, tomorrow was my wedding with Scott.

And there he was with my best friend Vera.

We planned on getting the wedding dress and her dress from the seamstress today and she called that she was sick and won't be able to go with me.

I went, promising that I was gonna check up on her when I was done and this was what I bumped into.

I pushed the door opened and stared at the five pieces of clothing sprawled on the floor. Scott jerked up from her immediately, taking up his pants and slide them on.

"Hey..." he breathed out.

I stared at him, with tears welled up in my eyes. I didn't know what to say or make of this.

"How long, has this been going on?" I looked between them, Vera averted my gaze from my face and covered herself with the duvets.

"Tell me!" I yelled and hurled the wedding dress in his face.

"Of all places, why did I have to find you here!" This was Vera's apartment, Why was he here?

"I...this is a misunderstanding, trust me," He tried to touch me, I pushed him away with my numb hands.

"Misunderstanding! What do you think of me, a fool!" I yelled with tears streaming off my face.

"Tomorrow was the wedding!" I pointed out, wagging my fingers at them.

"So what?" Vera snapped at me, I titled my head to her side. Her eyes withered on with a glare, she swept her messy long hair off her face and scoffed.

"Scott doesn't want you, because you're so a prune princess!" She half yelled.

"Shut up!" Scott shouted at her and she rolled her eyes inwardly.

I blinked my eyes holding myself down from breaking in front of them.

I squats, ignoring their yells and blaming games and picked up the wedding dress. I bought them with my money. I gathered them in my hands.

"I don't want to..." I said as I rose.

"Ever sight my eyes on you both again!" I screamed and ran out of the room.

"Cielle!" Scott yelled after me, but I didn't stop but kept on running with my tears blurry my sight.

I wanted to get away from them, from everything. I have been saving myself from this one man, that I was gonna call my husband and we gonna get married just a day away this happened.

I loved him, I loved my best friend Vera, I told her everything about me and she was gonna walk with me down the aisle.

How could I know, she was developing feelings for Scott, after she blatantly told me she wasn't his type?

I wiped my eyes and got into the taxi and slammed the door before Scott could get close.

"Wait! Please, Cielle!"

"Go, drive." I urged the driver and he took off immediately with Scott on our heels. I looked over my shoulder, he had stopped running, his hands were planted on his waist, and watched the car I was driving away.

I burst into tears, my head buried between my legs.

"Here ma'am." The driver stretched out a tissue to me. I muttered a 'thank you' and took them.

"Where are we headed?" He asked, staring at me through the rear mirror.

"Pavilion." I lift my head and wiped my sticky face and nose.

"It's a good place to chill out." I wanted to have a drink, maybe I would have the courage to face my stepmother and tell her the wedding was canceled. I couldn't do it when I'm sober, I won't be able to face her or stop her when she tries to hit me.

The car stopped at the pavilion and I came out, holding onto my wedding dress. I went into, and the music was blasting through the speakers, I would have a vibe to it but I couldn't hear the song and considered it a nuisance.

I settle in a deserted place with an empty chair and sunk in and there I was drinking alone. The last time I came here, it was all three of us. It wasn't it now.

"Drinking solo?" I looked up, there was a pair of long legs standing over the table I was at, he was in a suit. I chuckled, who wears a suit to a bar?

Expect for business.

I shrugged that wasn't any of my business.

"Yeah." I spurred and heard him pull out a chair and sat beside me. I looked up at the stranger, his demeanor was calm and there was a weird smile plastered on his face. His looks were stunning, for a man.

A perfect chiseled jawline, that I want to run my fingers across his, thin lips, pointed nose, and green eyes.

Fuck that.

That was probably the effect of my drinking. But there I was, staring dumbly at him.

"Care if I join?" He smirked and leaned closer so that our elbow brushed and my skin prickled to it.

I nodded like an idiot.

"Are you getting married?" I followed his gaze to my wedding dress and laughed loudly.

I was drunk!

I knew I was lightweight when it comes to drinking but I couldn't stop myself with the goddamn gorgeous man in front of me.

"Tomorrow is my wedding, you're invited!" I yelled despite he was close to me.

"You won't be here drinking if tomorrow was your wedding, you got dumped?" He raised a questioning brow at me.

I stared at his lips and smiled.

"....she's a prune princess." Vera's voice rang in my head, I pulled him close with his suit jacket and smashed my lips against his.
