Chapter 22 - TOURISM

All the village children lined up on the dusty road that led to the secret Chambers of Tabitha's people. The elders looked from their hurts and marveled at the luxury that was gracing their territory, such as was not seen before.

There was a convoy of three hefty vehicles - Pathfinders, finding their way, and navigating through the pathway.

The first, hosted the presence of Mrs Eze Ngozi, Tabitha, Tera and Dike, beside the driver.

The second which was a Hilux hosted all the costly items purchased for the family of Tabitha, comprising of cooking utensils, foodstuffs, detergents, gallons of cooking oil, clothes and what have you.

The third vehicle contained the presence of three heavily armed men of the force, beside the driver. It was a hired security escort from the state.

There was only one man in the entire village who could boast of anything riches, yet he had only a tractor and a car. He had never dreamed of making such an entrance in the land.

Who then was it?

Was it a government official coming to establish something or make findings in the community, or was it an international charity organization coming to give aid unannounced?

The situation was disturbing, except for the fact that there was the visibility of the goods conveyed along.

The village monitoring spirits, sort as they could be called ran to and fro, informing community chiefs and elders that a meal had arrived in the village, they should be preparing their bans to store the proceeds.

Well, it came disappointing that the convoy didn't head the direction of the palace, but rather stopped at the village square and beckoned on some youths beside the road to make findings, whether their cars could navigate the tiny and unconstructed road into the home of Tabitha's parents.

When they looked very well and barely discovered that it was Tabitha, due to her transformation, they marveled greatly and ran back, telling everyone that it was Tabitha.

Many couldn't believe the report, but those who saw Tabitha face to face ran to their homes and quickly brought out their hoes.

Within minutes, more youths join in and leveled the ridges that interrupted the road. This made it accessible by the monster vehicles.

Tabitha's dad had just returned from farm and saw youths clearing the road that led into his home. He was taken aback and marveled greatly.

Tabitha's mom and siblings also came out, trying to investigate what was happening.

Just then, Tabitha stepped her foot down and walked into the compound.

Her entire family couldn't believe this was her. Their mouths opened wide, in dismay of what their daughter has transformed into.

"Tabitha my daughter, Is this you?" The father asked, touching her to feel in his spirit if she was the woman.

Her mother came from behind with her eyes tossed out of their skulls and held her by the hand, with her dirty body which she just returned from the farm with, she mind not and hugged her daughter. Tears didn't wait for long before they started mourning down her eyes.

Mrs Eze Ngozi and children came down from the car and stood behind her.

"Mama, Daddy, please meet the woman the Lord has used to transform my life. She is Mrs Eze Ngozi and these are her two children, beside me." She introduced.

"Mom," She turned to Mrs Eze Ngozi

"These are my parents, my home and village. Welcome ma." She greeted.

Both parents exchanged greetings and were taken into the hurt while the goods were offloaded, as the police officers took their security stand to ensure there was no harm.

When the youths were done offloading the goods, it was reported to Mrs Eze Ngozi and she came out, put her hand into the bag and gave them twenty thousand naira to share.

This made them shout with joy and used their hoes to play music, danced and left happily to share their money, which at least a person should go home with two thousand naira.

This was a lot of money because in the village, life was cheap. Such an amount could carry a youth a whole week to spend.

Indeed, the coming of Tabitha had brought great joy - a single mom doing the impossible.

That day, the compound of Tabitha's parents was filled with visitors, friends and relatives.

A heavy load of pounded yam was made with variety of soups, pocho not missing.

The Ezes and family of Tabitha, together with visitors ate to their satisfaction. It was a great day of feasting in the land.

As the day traveled fast to return to its place of rest, Mrs Eze Ngozi and Tabitha's parents had a meeting together in which it was agreed that Tabitha would become the daughter of both, through adoption.

This of course was secretly discussed between the both parents, after the general meeting. This was so because Mrs Eze Ngozi wanted to keep it a secret and make it public on Tabitha's birthday, which was just a week ahead.

Mrs Eze Ngozi pleaded with her parents to travel to Abuja on the day of her birthday so the event would be carried out. This was going to be done as a surprising ordeal.

Mrs Eze Ngozi had great plans. She wanted to show how much she loved and wanted Tabitha to be her daughter by legal adoption.

After all and all, she sent a gift of ten thousand naira to the community head and they left the village for Makurdi where Mr Peter and family had their residence, this been Tabitha's former.
