"No, I sense nothing. After the last mournful howl of the alpha, I hear nothing but silence."

Jacob, hearing Kaiser's words, made a confused expression and asked, "Isn't that a good thing?"

While standing on the side lines, Karna suddenly grasped the cause of Kaiser's unease.

Having spent merely two days and nights in this place, including the present one, Karna had already come to understand that silence was the scarcest commodity within the enigmatic depths of the Forest of Echoes, especially during the shrouded hours of the night.

"Do you remember on our arrival, when we first met the village chief, he solemnly cautioned us that, 'In the forest of echoes, silence is nothing but a deceptive mirage, concealing the echoing steps of dangers that are marching towards you. So, if ever you find yourself enveloped in utter silence, take heed, for danger draws near you.'"

Kaiser's words made the two members of his cohort realize what he meant.
