"Little perky butt, where are you in such a hurry to go?"
A sultry sex doll leaned against a roadside sign, its body bathed in varying shades of light and shadow from different colored lights.
"Come on, come to me. Let me help you relax and loosen up your muscles, how about that?"
Luo Qi took a closer look.
It was a male sex doll.
He struggled to resist the urge to draw his samurai sword.
[At least here you know what you came for.]
Johnny sighed.
There was a strange sense of an aged LSP enjoying himself watching the girls on the street.
[Damn, her implants are older than me.]
He looked at a sex doll sitting on dirty steps by the roadside and shook his head.
"It's impressive that she can still put this outfit together." V sighed.
The sex doll profession, whether high-end or low-quality, was essentially a group of pitiful individuals who had transformed themselves into "human-shaped flight | cup | dolls."
As the saying goes, it's better than being shot in the head or starving to death.
"So, which year are you from? 1990?" Luo Qi casually asked while walking.
[Very close, 88.]Johnny clicked his tongue.
"In eleven years, Night City's top terrorist will be celebrating his centennial."
[You better invite a bunch of girls to dance for me, but before that, I need to get out of this damn portable coffin.]
Luo Qi rolled his eyes: "Give it up. Your chip's integrity was gone before, and you're lucky to be alive, let alone thinking about what's in your pants."
It was indeed a place that would inexplicably excite men, but Jack had Misty, Luo Qi had Moer, leaving V as the bachelor and Johnny Silverhand as the old bachelor (plus LSP). Yet, neither of them was interested in such cheap debauchery.
They came here to experience the atmosphere, whether or not they'd partake was another matter.
These were Jack's words, and as a native of Night City, he knew his stuff.
A holographic sex doll was flirting with passersby on the street.
"I can make you last for hours~~~"
Was that "last" a verb?
And - hours? That sounded painful.
Luo Qi wanted to complain but eventually just walked past without expression.
The further they went, the fewer people and storefronts there were, and the more garbage and puddles.
Gang members and thugs mysteriously appeared like swarms of flies everywhere.
"Hey, stop and don't go any further."
A group of shirtless thugs sitting at the entrance of an old building called out to Luo Qi and his party as they turned the corner.
"Who are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for a Ripperdoc - his name is Finger Brother. Do you know where he is?"
Luo Qi asked politely.
"Who are you? What do you want with him?" The punk-style thug countered.
"I have some issues with my implants." V chimed in.
"You guys aren't from around here. Aren't there other doctors in the city who can take care of you?" The thug looked at their unfamiliar faces and shook his head.
"They say Finger Brother's work is the best."
The thug shook his leg: "That's right, those who sell themselves come to him, are you guys the same?"
How am I supposed to respond to that?
Luo Qi rolled his eyes.
Why was he encountering so many annoying idiots today?
"Selling your mom, I don't have time to talk nonsense with you."
Luo Qi bent down, drew his sword in one fluid motion, and cut down the two thugs in front of him.
Moer retracted her smoking revolver and coldly stared at the sex doll watching from the upstairs window.
The latter screamed and quickly retreated, much like an animal that had seen its natural enemy.
Entering the dim, half-ruined building, a jittery male doll recited chaotic and nonsensical prayers to a female doll lying on the ground.
"Ah! Merciful and kind soul! You wander in the dark... come, come visit us, a pair stained with blood in this world. If the king of the universe has mercy, we pray for His protection and your safety...!"
[She's dead, truly a heavenly gospel.]Johnny glanced at her.
A rotten, unidentifiable substance sat on the table.
"Blue butter? What the hell is that?" V touched his head in surprise.
[Blue, huh? Probably made with mechanical serum, it's strong stuff. During the Third Corporate War, everyone injected it into their veins.]Johnny explained, [Within 24 hours, you won't feel any pain, but you won't remember anything afterward.]
"No wonder." V shook his head, looking at the information read from the scanner, "Diazepam..."
"A sedative drug, don't know what kind of isomer it is, but don't use it."
Luo Qi had some knowledge in this area.
In a nearby corner, a man of unknown fate lay curled up.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Jack walked over, accidentally kicking a pile of trash.
Cans clattered and rolled out.
"I'm not going swimming!! I hate it! Can't you see nobody cares!?"
Strange gibberish, one might think he was sleep-talking.
"Finger Brother - do you know where he is?" V asked directly.
"If I knew, I would have exchanged the information with you for money already." The indistinct figure suddenly changed his tone and started laughing foolishly, "Why make things so... complicated? In the end, you'll only be left with a bunch of broken wires and a few empty bottles."
"He's lost it."
V shook his head, unable to get any useful information.
The ground floor was full of debris like a demolition site, with exposed rebar and poor-quality sex dolls barely surviving in the corners.
At the end of the hallway, a blue, condom-shaped sign flickered eerily by the stairs.
Luo Qi and the others exchanged glances.
It didn't seem like a decent place.
Upstairs, a man and a woman were arguing, one with a shrill voice who seemed to be a debt-ridden sex doll, and the other likely a pimp associated with Finger Brother, probably of the same ilk as those downstairs.
In a dirty room lit by blue-purple neon lights, several people were waiting.
"Hey, V."
A familiar voice came to his ears.
Luo Qi looked in the direction of the voice, and it was Judy.
Judy Alvarez, a highly talented Braindance editor and tech expert - she could join any company's entertainment department and earn a handsome salary if she wanted.
But she valued her independence and didn't want to be controlled by others, so she turned down all job offers.
Her biggest weakness was her overwhelming sense of justice, not knowing when to keep quiet and always getting into trouble because of it.
But for some people, that was her greatest strength.
A cool girl.
Luo Qi looked at this familiar yet strange person, her stylish gradient side-swept bangs, and her badass tattoos.
In the real world, this was his first time meeting Judy.
She seemed to have been waiting for a long time, impatiently wanting to open the tightly closed door.
But a sex doll dressed as if it was randomly generated stopped her.
"Hey, hey! There's a line here! Sit down and wait your turn!"
V shrugged at Luo Qi and walked over to talk to Judy.
"This Finger Brother - do you know him?"
"Hmph, I've heard some things about him," Judy turned and murmured.
"Such as?"
"They say he's not very precise with his work."
Seems like a lousy cyberware doctor.
"Finally met someone familiar along the way," V sighed with relief.
But Judy seemed worried, her voice full of concern, "I'm very, very worried about her, V, I don't know what might happen."
"Don't worry, we'll definitely find her," V comforted her, "After finishing that job, Evelyn stayed at the Moxes for a while, right?"
"Yes, she did."
"So why did she go back to Clouds?"
V couldn't understand the reason.
Not only him, but Luo Qi and the others also couldn't figure it out.
