Chapter 22 - chapter 22

Loki said something that Jackie couldn't understand, and continued to move forward.

In the middle of the corridor, two people were talking, and the three of them quickly hid behind a partition.

"Have you checked the meditation room?"

"Checked, everything is normal."

"No suspicious traces, everything is normal?"

"Uh, the door to the rooftop seems to be broken."

"Then check it again."

The rooftop door is broken? Which rooftop?

Loki was a bit confused by the complex structure of the Azure Tower. It was like going through a maze when he sneaked out before.

It couldn't be the rooftop of Lai Xuan's suite, even Adam Chongham wouldn't be kept there for long, let alone these ordinary guards.

"Zzz..."

A strange noise came from the glass door next to them, which had been trying to close automatically but never managed to.

"V, there's a camera ahead, turn it off."

Loki whispered, V nodded, and a blue light flashed in his eyes. A few seconds later, the camera obediently retracted.

He swiftly approached, covering the mouth of the guard facing away from him with one hand and breaking his neck, catching the falling weapon with the other hand and dragging him into the corner.

V followed suit, pressing the daydreaming hacker who was watching the rain to death behind the flower bed.

"Let me try."

Under V and Jackie's watchful eyes, Loki forcefully pulled at the constantly glitching double door with both hands.

After a slight explosion, he seemed to have broken some mechanism, and the glass door opened enough for an adult to pass through.

Pushing open the only door on the wall next to them, Loki looked up and let out a surprised sound as if his jaw had dropped to the floor.

"Damn, come on."

Climbing the ladder to the network cable well, moving the cover, the rooftop of the meditation room came into view.

Outside the window was the curtain of rain at night. The top-floor suite could be seen just by looking up, and even the ladder that V and Jackie had come down on, as well as the wall shattered by the octant, were visible.

Leaning against the glass, lush plants could be seen outside. Stepping on the wooden floor, if you leaned on the railing and looked out on a better day, you could see a nice Night City view.

"Really worthy of the rich people's taste." V exclaimed.

"Be careful, duck down!"

Loki suddenly shouted.

It turned out that all the guardrails and walls were made of transparent glass, and right across the building were Arasaka soldiers walking back and forth with guns.

Looking closely, there were also meeting rooms, corridors, etc. From a high vantage point, everything was clearly visible.

They were on the rooftop of the ceiling of the floor they had sneaked in and escaped from, moving silently.

"Damn, this is really thrilling."

Jackie looked around, and every time he saw a guard passing by under the skylight, he couldn't help but gasp.

"Hush..."

Loki peeked into an open window, below which hung a chandelier and a fully armored elite special forces member, holding a large machine gun in his hands.

Continuing forward, just around the long corridor, was an open ventilation duct.

Loki crawled in and exclaimed with joy, "There's a way here!"

Treading carefully on the fabric-covered boxes, they entered a fairly spacious storage room.

Some paper reports were messily placed on the table, and there was also a car chip beside them.

"Emperor 620 Ragnar... Arasaka's car." V took the chip and said with certainty.

"Take it, it might be useful." Jackie suggested.

Biting his teeth and turning the doorknob as lightly as possible, Loki quickly swept the outside, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"How is it?" V asked.

Facing the door, Loki caught his breath for a moment and gestured calmly, "To my right, there's a guard and a camera, right where the front desk with the computer is. To my front-right, there's another guard. And in the glass partition right in front of me, there's a big guy with a machine gun, looks like a boss."

"I'll take care of the camera and that guard." V volunteered, as he was the most skilled hacker among the three.

"I'll deal with the boss." Jackie raised his hand but was stopped by Loki, "He's wearing a helmet and heavy armor, his neck is well protected, ordinary methods won't work, you deal with the guard."

"How are you gonna do it?" Jackie asked with wide eyes, "Just with this knife?"

"Yeah, just with this knife." Loki looked him in the eye, "Don't you know me, bro?"

"I've never seen you play with a knife before..." Jackie said worriedly, "I'll come help you as soon as I'm done."

"Trust Lucky, he can do it." V said.

Loki bumped fists with them: "V first, Jackie second, me third, don't rush the door, okay?"

The other two nodded.

"One, two, three, go!"

The moment he shouted "three," Loki opened the door.

V took the lead, capturing the camera's position as soon as he stepped out, and his eyes emitted blue light.

Jackie put down the box, lowered his head, and charged at the guard with a bear hug, using his weight and strength to break the guard's neck.

As for Loki, he silently opened the glass door after the other two had dealt with the enemies in his path, sneaking up behind the heavily armored Arasaka assault commander, and swept a kick at his waist.

The enemy, still looking at his PDA, was caught off guard and sent sprawling.

Without hesitation, Loki stepped on his face mask and stabbed his exposed throat with his knife.

"Spurt--"

Blood splashed onto the ceiling, drenching Loki's face and head.

"Damn!"

Sheathing his knife, Loki wiped his face messily and searched the commander's body for an access token.

V and Jackie glanced at the blood-covered glass-wall room, unable to bear the sight.

"Let's go, downstairs."

With the token in hand, the elevator doors opened promptly.

With the token, even in the highly alerted Azure Tower, the three of them had the freedom to come and go as they pleased.

The elevator slowly descended.

The trio seemed to have entered a checkpoint and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Heh, hehe…"

Jackie's gun-holding hand relaxed, and he started to laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" V asked curiously.

"Arasaka Saburo, lived for 150 years, but today, damn it, it's today of all days. It's a shame not to make a blockbuster out of it." Jackie patted the Relic in his hand, "We're gonna be rich when we get out."

"Before, when you said that, I always felt like you were about to die, but now you're in good shape, very good."

Loki, with his hands on his hips, was quite full of himself.

"Have I said that before?" Jackie asked in confusion.

"No," Loki shook his head, "And you won't in the future either."

The elevator slowed down.

They had arrived at the first-floor lobby.

"Ku-chi…"

The elevator doors opened.

Instead of Arasaka soldiers, a blood-soaked Moe entered their line of sight.

"Ugh, ha, you scared me…"

Jackie almost threw the box out of his hands.

Even Loki gave a start and rolled his eyes.

"Where are the Arasaka special forces?"

"Taken care of."

Moe didn't say much, just turned around and led the way.

All along the way, there were horrifying death scenes of Arasaka soldiers everywhere. The blood splashed onto the clover logo on the walls, looking very mocking. Even the cameras didn't escape the destruction, being smashed by objects, sparks, and lightning. Loki even saw a special forces sidearm embedded in one of them.

"?Dios mío! (My God!)"

Jackie and V exchanged glances, looking fearfully at the retreating figures of Loki and Moe.

"Did everything go according to plan?" Loki pressed the button for the elevator to go from the first-floor lobby to the basement parking lot, asking.

Moe nodded, "I saw an Octant chase after them."

"Good."

"Watch out! They've discovered that Arasaka Saburo is not in the floating car!" T-Bug's voice, silent for a while, sounded a bit tense.

"Bug? What's going on over there?" V asked anxiously.

"I headed...toward the...company's direction..." T-Bug said hastily, "They..."

There was the sound of a table being slapped in the channel.

"Damn, okay, I broke the big toy you gave me."
