Verdant Plains.
This place exudes a vibrant charm with its rolling hills, adorned with lush greenery that stretches as far as the eye can see.
The grassy plains that intersperse the hills add to the picturesque scenery, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The rivers meander gracefully through the landscape, their tranquil currents enhancing the beauty of the hills.
It's an idyllic setting, perfect for a leisurely afternoon amidst nature's embrace. The fertile soil nourishes a variety of plants, making it a haven for flora enthusiasts.
The open expanse of the plains provides ample space for farming and other activities, further enhancing the region's allure. Overall, the Verdant Plains offer a peaceful retreat from the chaos of urban life, inviting visitors to unwind and reconnect with nature.
To the south lies a dense forest, shrouded in tranquillity and offering respite from the clamour of civilization. Towering trees, accompanied by dense undergrowth and shrubs, create a sanctuary of serenity.
The forest teems with life, with myriad creatures finding solace within its boundaries. Explorers seeking solace or adventure can indulge in nature walks and hikes, immersing themselves in the captivating beauty of their surroundings.
Amidst the ancient trees and dappled sunlight, the forest exudes an ethereal charm, beckoning visitors to lose themselves in its enchanting embrace. It serves as an oasis of peace, a sanctuary where one can seek refuge from the trials of everyday life.
However, beyond the forest's veil, peril awaits. Hostile monsters roam freely, and only the brave dare to venture forth. The dangers lurking in the shadows ensure that no unprepared soul can traverse the depths of the forest unarmed. Caution is paramount, for the creatures that inhabit these lands are ever watchful, ready to defend their domain.
"Alright! It's time for me to level up and grow stronger."
Equipping my sword and armour, I readied myself for the journey ahead. With determination in my heart, I set forth, venturing into the forest.
The Verdant Plains were teeming with monsters, their presence felt with every step. Not a human soul could be seen, and even the signs of civilization were scarce, save for the occasional farmhouse. Adventurers rarely ventured into these treacherous lands, well aware of the dangers that lurked within.
"It seems I won't encounter any fellow adventurers around here... This place appears to be safer than anticipated."
Following the winding path through the forest, I eventually arrived at the tranquil banks of a river. As I surveyed the dense vegetation and contemplated the risks of venturing further alone, the weight of my decision pressed upon me.
With haste, I returned to the palace to prepare for the upcoming expedition. However, before reaching the throne room, Akari intercepted me, concern etched on her face.
"Kazuki-kun, I understand your determination, but there's something I need to tell you."
"The dungeon is an exceedingly dangerous place. I'm not sure if you'll be able to survive."
"But Akari... I'll be fine. Please don't worry. I'll take the utmost care of myself when we venture into the labyrinth."
"I know you possess strength, but please... listen. From this moment onward, I will do everything in my power to protect you. I swear to be your guardian."
"Th... Thank you, Akari-san."
"Let's return to the group."
"Alright."
"Very well then, let us proceed."
Side by side, Kazuki and Akari walked toward the throne room, joining their comrades to prepare for their first mission.
"Hear ye! Heroes of our world, are you prepared for your inaugural quest?"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Their unified voices resounded throughout the chamber.
"Then, I hereby appoint Bartolomeo as your instructor for this mission."
"Heroes, henceforth!"
"Roger that!"
We took our leave, gathered our belongings, and mounted the carriage. As Kazuki settled in, he pondered the possibility of survival and staying alive. Despite his perceived weakness, he refused to be deemed useless and was determined to show his classmates what he was truly capable of.
Ravensfield.
70 km from Heisen.
Nestled in the heart of a desert, Ravensfield stood as a small town. Its landscape is dotted with structures ranging from modest houses to grand residences, a bustling public market positioned at its centre, and the Adventurer's Guild situated at its side. To the north lay the imposing Ravensfield Labyrinth.
The labyrinth itself was a convoluted and intricate network of pathways, twisting and turning in every direction. Towering walls, constructed from ancient stone blocks, stood as formidable barriers, while mysterious symbols and carvings adorned the labyrinth's paths.
Deep within its heart lay a grand chamber, guarded by two colossal statues, concealing untold secrets and treasures that only the bold could uncover through navigating the labyrinth's treacherous corridors.
Renowned as a perilous place, the Ravensfield Labyrinth had claimed the lives of countless adventurers. Yet, for those courageous enough to venture forth, the rewards held great allure.
Kazuki and his classmates had journeyed to Ravensfield to challenge the enigmatic Ravensfield Labyrinth and seek the riches and hidden knowledge concealed within its walls.
"Before we enter, let's have a quick briefing. The labyrinth consists of 125 floors, making it the most challenging in the entire country. Even our finest units have been unable to survive beyond the 40th floor. We'll focus on navigating the initial and middle levels."
"Stick together, and we'll all make it through."
"Is that clear, everyone?"
"Yes, Sir!"
"Very well, let us proceed!"
With determination in our hearts, we dashed into the depths of the labyrinth.
Ravensfield Labyrinth.
1st Floor.
The path ahead was narrow, with close walls and a low ceiling. Illumination was scarce, limited to the faint glow emanating from crystal lamps. We proceeded cautiously through this floor.
"What kind of traps await us here?"
"If I recall correctly, floors 1 to 10 are riddled with traps like spikes, acid, and flames. After the 10th floor, the traps become more conventional."
"So, once we pass the 10th floor, we should be able to proceed without as much danger."
I relayed the information to my group members. After some time, the wall in front of us gave way to reveal a vast room. It appeared to be an open space, surrounded by pillars. At the room's rear, a set of stairs ascended upward. The ground beneath us bore a thin layer of dust as if we had been traversing this room for quite some time already.
"Looks like we've reached the first level of the labyrinth."
"Yes, you're right."
I carefully surveyed the cramped spaces and narrow hallways within the labyrinth. My initial impression upon entering was dire; it felt as though we were facing imminent death at any moment.
We ventured into the labyrinth's first floor, with the knight instructor leading the way cautiously. Before delving deeper, he addressed us with a speech.
