Ash continued sailing on top of Gyarados as they started sailing Ash pulled up his phone and had it fly in front of Gyarados to show where they should go next which was none other than Tangelo Island.
So as he held onto his water dragon he tried to find a comfortable way to sit and it was fine but with his scaly body that also gets slippery on some places he needed to hold onto the crown, Gyarados was fast but it wasn't too comfortable.
But as he waited he decided to start browsing his old world's internet just to see what came up and if anything could come out of it, and Pikachu was taking a nap inside his bag like always.
"Wait, so in the 10 years I've been here only 2 have passed?"
"Huh, so Kitakami is a thing…"
"Oh, new characters…"
"Huh, the DLC I guess Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a thing I wonder how I get that…"
"Huh, I guess that's it I wonder what comes next,"
Ash scrolled through then felt like throwing his phone into the water, "Mother fffff-..." he took a breath, 'Of course, they bring back megas after I die, curse you Z-A I'll never get to play you!'
He put his phone away to cool off from that disappointment and thankfully he didn't need to do too much since Gyarados arrived at the shore of Tangelo Island a few minutes later. And just so conveniently there was a cruise ship with a bunch of tourists also arriving.
So Ash pulled up next to the dock, some people were freaked out by the giant red Gyarados but after seeing it had a trainer most of them cooled off.
When he jumped off the shaking caused Pikachu to get up and get back on his shoulder, and also Clefairy decided she wanted to finally jump out of her Pokeball and immediately took over Ash's backpack.
Then before he looked at Gyarados, "You wanna go back to your ball or you just wanna swim around?"
Gyarados looked at Ash and saw the island then just sank down back into the warm water without saying anything.
Ash shrugged and looked at the Pokemon on his shoulders, "Fair enough, anyway you two want Ice cream?"
—
A bit later while Ash was walking around and the goobers on his shoulders had Ice cream and the goober Abra came back and also took an Ice cream then teleported out again, Ash was walking toward the beach.
As he got close Pikachu's ears perked up, "Pika?"
"You found something Pikachu?" Ash asked as he started pouring Aura into his eyes to look around
Then with both those things he found something and started running towards the area which was more remote next to the shore there weren't even any nearby stairs leading out only a guard rail, and looking down he could see a poor infant Lapras and 3 guys with sticks over her.
"Get up and get moving, you stupid lump!" one guy in a bandana said
"You better listen or else." the green-haired one with a stick said as he wound up and hit Lapras
Lapras: *sad Lapras noises*
Ash frowned and jumped over the railing landing on the sand, "Hey you dumb, dumber, and ugly, what you guys doing?"
"This is none of your business." the guy sitting over Lapras said as he jumped off and walked forward.
"We don't need any little brats like you telling us how to handle our Pokémon." the guy in the bandana said walking next to him
"Yeah, we're getting ready for our big Pokémon battle against the Orange Crew, so get lost." the final guy said
"Wow the Orange Crew, really impressive that you wanna take on a backwater league, did your mommy say you could do it?" Ash said, smirking.
"Why you little brat, listen here," the leader said in a poor attempt to be intimidating, "We are the toughest around so you better buzz off before we make you leave the hard way,"
"Wow ugly, you sure know how to intimidate a kid probably half your age, you must have girls all over you, be honest do you only want that Lapras so you have an excuse to go flirt with the Mikan Gym girl?" Ash response.
"W-what, n-no," the guy said, "Grr, you wanna really do this you punk."
Ash smiled and put his bag down, "Sure why not, I got a few seconds."
The 3 guys clenched their teeth and threw out their Pokemon a Beedrill, Spearow, and Hitmonchan respectively, "This will show you!"
"Spearow, let's show them what a real Pokémon battle looks like"
"Beedrill, let's get buzzy"
"Let's knock 'em out, Hitmonchan"
The 3 Pokemon came out anywhere in the middle of jumping forward when suddenly a 4th voice yelled out, "Hold it!"
For some reason, the Pokemon were so confused that they lessened and even the 3 punks were so surprised that they also stopped, and from the side boy walked up.
The boy had a short-sleeved, green shirt, dark red shorts, and a salmon-colored headband, and he had a notebook. It was Tracey, "This should only take a second."
He quickly inspected the 3 Pokemon and hummed to himself, "Hmm.."
"The feathers on your Spearow indicate it's not getting enough vitamins and it could stand to lose a few pounds."
"The coloring on this Beedrill is pretty poor. "
"And it's obvious this Hitmonchan isn't getting enough exercise."
They all looked confused as Tracey nodded, "Yeah, just as I suspected."
The 3 punks listened with curiosity Tracey pointed at them, "It's easy to see that these Pokémonare pitifully underdeveloped."
"What do you mean underdeveloped?"
"Yeah, who made you the expert?"
But he ignored them and turned to Ash, "These Pokemon, however, look just perfect, no perfect isn't good enough to describe them,"
He grabbed Pikachu by the arm and lifted his hand, "This Pikachu is very well trained his coat is super shiny and his electric pouches are a nice bright color,"
Then he grabbed Clefairy, "And this Clefairy's pink is so vibrant even the blush on her cheeks is a nice shade."
He raised his notebook and put them on a log, "I need a sketch of them! Please hold still."
As Tracey started sketching the punks looked dejected, "We can't let these creeps ignore us.
"Let's go, guys."
"It's battle time," they yelled as the Pokemon ran forward screaming.
Clefairy was posing for the picture Tracey was making of her and the sudden interruption made her upset so with a finger she used [Gravity] to slam them into the sand, then she raised her finger making them float with it, and threw them away.
Ash and Pikachu didn't even say anything at this point and Tracey didn't notice as he finished making the picture and happily showed it to Clefairy.
Ash shook his head and walked over to Lapras, "Hey dude, I don't know who you are but can you save the pictures for later this Lapras looks hurt we need to call the Pokemon center."
Tracey snapped out of his trance and finally noticed the Lapras lying on the ground, "Oh no," he quickly went into his bag and pulled out a vile, "Here this is medicine, give it to Lapras I'll go call the Joy!"
Ash took it and almost immediately Tracey started running to the center like his life depended on it, when Tracey was out of sight Ash looked down at the baby.
He held his hand out and used Aura to calm her down, "There there, it's ok, I won't hurt you,"
Lapras was scared for a moment but as Ash's hand approached she felt a sense of calmness wash over her as she let Ash pat her on the head, "There, everything's ok now, here this will help you."
He held out the medicine and helped her drink it, she didn't resist meanwhile Ash was using Aura to keep her calm and bonding as he could hear the Chansey running towards them,
He gave Lapras another pat, "Everything will be alright,"
—
A few minutes later Ash and Tracey were in the waiting room, they were waiting for Nurse Joy to tell them the news about Lapras.
Then Joy walked out and gave a happy smile, "Everything went smoothly, Lapras will be back to normal after a bit of rest!" she said as she pointed at the window where Lapras was resting on the water in the pool
"That's good to hear," Tracey said, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Well, there is one problem, that Lapras is afraid of human interaction, she didn't even let me treat her. My Chansey had to handle it," Joy said her smile fading.
Ash looked out the window while Tracey started asking a few more questions, then he spoke up, "You mind if I try?"
Joy looked surprised at the request, "Em, ok you can if you want, just don't do anything to Lapras she suffered enough."
Ash nodded as he opened the sliding door and walked over to Lapras, not entirely since she was in the water but he got her attention and held his hand out for her, "Hey you ok now."
Lapras sheepishly made a cute sound and slowly moved to Ash, still cautious but the Aura certainly helped as she let her head rest on Ash's hand.
Joy and Tracey looked shocked seeing this as Pikachu and Clefairy nodded, not even surprised that Ash did that.
"How…?"
"Pokemon just like me," Ash said, rubbing Lapras on the head lightly.
Then when Tracey tried to get close to inspect her, she dived into the water splashing Tracey with water as she went down
Ash gave a pat on Tracey's back, "I guess some people are just naturally better at this kinda thing,"
"Yeah," Tracey said as he went inside and grabbed a towel
Ash also went in and decided to go to the PC finally and call Oak since the worry for Lapras was over, it only took a few rings before Oak picked up it also looked like he was eating some Soba.
"Hello my boy, you caught me in the middle of lunch, I got the message from Professor Ivy that you got the GS ball," Oak said
"Yeah, it's right here," Ash went into his bag and pulled out the GS ball.
"Hmmm, I see, gold and silver, very interesting. I can't wait to hold it with my own hands, why don't you send your Abra?"
"Well to be honest I don't know where she is," Ash said, "Wait I have an idea."
Ash went into his bag and pulled out a small bag of chips and opened it, and the next moment Abra popped onto Ash's lap, "Found her!"
"Alright my boy, then if you could, can you send her over?" Oak said
"Yeah sure I'll send it in a second Professor Oak," Ash said as he hung up.
Also, Tracey was in the same room, he didn't leave so he heard everything, his eyes lit up, "Wow, I can't believe it, I know someone who knows my Hero Professor Oak!"
Then he rushed in front of Ash, "Tell me how do you know Professor Oak!"
"Well I am one of his students, and he is also my neighbor so I grew up with him," Ash said
"Wow, hey please can you help me meet him?! It's always been my dream to become his assistant and be able to show him my pictures and skill as a Pokemon watcher!"
Ash looked at Abra and she shrugged, "Alright, but first one thing." Ash said as he put the Pokeball in Tracey's hands and then he put Abra on his shoulders.
"Ok good luck," Ash snapped
"W-w-wait I'm not re-" Tracey tried to say but he was cut off by Abra teleporting, a few seconds later Abra came back with no Tracey, and Ash gave her the bag of chips as payment then she teleported out again.
Joy walked out after healing a few other Pokemon and looked around, "Hey, where's Tracey?"
"He decided to leave to fulfill his dream," Ash said, "By the way, Lapras doesn't have a trainer right?"
Joy nodded, "Yes it seems so, it looks like those guys you talked about never even caught Lapras, I wonder what will happen to her being so young and all without her herd."
Ash smiled, "Then do you mind if I try to catch her,"
Joy blinked but then thought about it, "Well… ok she seems to like you, but only if she agrees to it!"
Ash nodded as he walked out and held his hand slapping the water, then Lapras nervously came out again so Ash gave her some more head pats, "Hey, you wanna come with me? I promise I'll treat you nicely,"
Lapras tilted her head and looked nervous but she could see Pikachu and Clefairy smiling at her next to Ash, so she nodded, making a high-pitched cry.
Ash smiled and held out a Pokeball which she booped with her nose going into it and the Pokeball closed and immediately went *ding*
Ash turned back around to Joy and held the Pokeball and smiled, "Was that fine."
