Grim arrived at his nest. There, he could still spot remnants of the invading ants. There were still a few hundred ants fighting against his brethren, so he charged at them with his remaining group.
After hours of battle, the remaining ants were disposed of.
Finally, there was silence. But the atmosphere was gloomy. There were thousands of ant corpses and body parts scattered everywhere. Both sides had suffered massively, but bulldog ants had fewer casualties than dinosaur ants.
If you looked at the long-term effect, dinosaur ants were doomed to fail because they lacked a queen and eggs. So, it was a massive win for bulldog ants.
Other ants were busy cleaning the area, disposing of the corpses, and repairing the nest.
"I should check my gains tomorrow." Grim was too tired from all the battles, so he went to the nest for rest.
He woke up the next day and his first action was to open the status.
"Status open."
[Status: ]
Host Name: Grim
Species: Ant (Myrmecia - Bulldog Ant)
Cultivation: None
Life Span: 75 Days
Special Abilities: Poisonous Bite, Ghost, Compact
[Remaining Evo points: 76 ]
"Awesome, I made 76 Evo, and I still have 75 days left."
"Huh! Why are there only 75 days left? I clearly remember only 5 days have passed." He was confused.
"Correct. You lost 10 days of life span as a result of missing one leg."
"So, if I lose all of my legs, that's 60 days gone?"
"Please stop making stupid assumptions, host. You cannot survive if you lose all your legs."
He was making all the calculations of how long he would survive with other body parts missing. But, the system's reminder jolted him to reality.
"You are right. I should make the most of my life."
He also remembered he had 1 ticket for the weekly ability refresh, but he gave up on the idea since he was powerful as of now, and he could use it when the system shop upgrades to level 2.
"Yesterday was too close, I should survey this territory and see if there are other nests around."
He went around for the survey with a small group of 25 ants. After an entire day of the survey, he had a rough idea of the surrounding.
There were 2 termite nests and 7 ant nests within 1–2 hours of travel distance. Two of those ants were acorn ants and moisture ants, which were relatively peaceful, while the rest were aggressive.
"There might be a chance those 5 nests may attack in the future. So, I have to take care of them or else I might lose other legs too." He had made up his mind and his desire to succeed could be seen in his eyes.
The 5 nests were made up of fire ants, suicide ants, bullet ants, velvet ants, and wood ants.
They all had their special abilities, so decided to attack wood and fire ants earlier than others. Both fire ants and wood ants had the special ability of venom and acid, which he had an affinity towards or was immune to due to his new abilities.
Once again, he organized a group consisting of 200 ants and led them to the fire ant's nest first. His strategy was similar to the first campaign, letting his brethren cause a big distraction while he would dispose of the queen.
He followed the same strategy and sneaked his way to the queen's chamber and disposed of the soldier fire ants. Due to continuous venom attacks from soldier ants, he was able to increase the efficacy of his poisonous bite.
He then quickly disposed of the queen and the eggs and stealthily made his way back to his group.
The next day he gathered more ants to fill in the gaps as a result of the previous campaign and led them to the wood ant's nest and was successful in his mission.
He successfully led the group and was able to dispose of the queen and eggs from both bullet ants and velvet ants within two days.
He gathered a group again the next day and led them to the final nest of the suicide bomber ants.
They were a formidable enemy, and it would be the last campaign before the territory would be secured more or less.
But he had yet to realize the danger that was making its way to his nest.
