Inside the cave, the girls sat in close proximity to one another as they awaited John's return from his excursion to the forest. Having exhausted all of their available activities, they decided to retreat back into the cave for lack of anything better to do.
Seated side by side, they began to engage in a friendly exchange of conversation colloquially referred to as "girl talk."
"Anna, do you happen to know what John is up to?" Bianca inquired, noting that John seemed to be keeping things to himself today.
"I don't have any idea either. I asked him, but he didn't tell me anything. You were there too, right?" Anna replied, giving Bianca a quizzical look.
"I'm sorry about that. I thought John had already told you, but not us," Bianca said, shaking her head.
"Why do you think that?" Anna asked, her face is now blank with confusion.
"Oh, come on now Anna, I can tell that John is interested in you," Bianca said, maintaining a serious expression.
