"Huh, oh. I'll have them ready for Young Master Yang. It might prove to be a good thing to teach some disciples about repairing these. Never know when I won't be able to do it after all." Ma Fan, the troublesome grandmaster, responded with a tone even Yang Kai was confused by.
The Supreme Elders present looked at the other furnaces with an inquisitive eye. "Young Master Yang, am I to believe that you just made replicas of the original Good Fortune Divine Furnace, do they work?" Six Wood Divine Monarch asked with a hopeful gulp.
I chuckled weakly for a moment before finally regaining my balance. After all, Smiles saw right through me no need to act more exhausted than necessary. Cracking my neck I yawned. "Feel free to test them out. There are more limits on these ones though. For instance, if you wanted to make anything higher than 7th rank resources, you'd have to use the original." I answered.
Six Wood Divine Monarch went straight to one of the 7th rank furnaces, pulled out a set of 5th rank resources and dropped them. A set of this rank wasn't really much of anything but chump change for someone of such a high status. "I assume then by your explanation, that the ones with a 7th rank furnace as the container, the limit it can produce is of the 6th rank. So this one should work out nicely." He said, tossing in the set of 5th rank resources and out popped a single 6th rank resource. "Wow, it worked. Now then… let's see what happens when I drop a set of 6th rank resources in…" He continued, excited by the result.
The set of 6th rank resources were spit right back out and a divine sense excluded from the furnace. It said the limit of the furnace was producing 6th rank resources. Which was very clear that it meant if a 6th rank resource was dropped into the furnace it would pop right back out. After all, if the limit and material are equal then no improvement can be done.
"Huh, you even managed to explain the issue to those so they don't complain about it not working." Azure Feather Divine Monarch said as he stood next to Six Wood hunching over the furnace.
"Indeed, I didn't want someone crying about it not working when in fact they were just expecting far too much of it." I replied, chuckling a little. "The 8th rank furnace can handle popping out 7th rank materials. So there won't be that large of an issue when it comes to raising direct 7th rank open heavens in the future." I continued explaining.
"Now I feel compelled to verify that 8th rank furnace over there." Six Wood said, tossing the set of 6th rank resources into the furnace. And just like before, out came a 7th rank resource. Proving that this furnace was indeed genuine but it led to a question. "Young Master Yang, I watched you perform this miraculous feat, but there is something I do not understand." He started speaking in a confused tone of voice as he and the other supreme elders seemed to struggle to come to terms with something. "Why are the limits different exactly? Is it truly because of the furnace?" He asked.
"The simple answer is, yes. The long answer isn't too complicated either but to a lesser degree. So I'll just ask you this, can a 7th rank handle a 7th rank on their own without suffering any issues? I asked, providing the example they needed.
It was then they realized it really was that simple. "I see, so the inner chaos of the furnace isn't different, rather the furnace is restricting the abilities of the inner chaos. Keeping it from going out of control. Intriguing, so the inner chaos reflects the limits of its shell…" Azure Feather Divine Monarch commented, pausing for a moment and then…
The supreme elders all looked at each other and then to Smiles, then to Yang Kai and back to me. They did so all in unison, I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Brother Yang… Is this how you broke the limits of the open heaven method? Some sort of overriding the limit by changing the vessel?" Six Wood Divine Monarch asked.
"Not exactly but it isn't too dissimilar. I had the aid of the people living in my small universe. Using their faith in me, the power of fate became accessible. I suspect that it is for this reason that those who bring in living beings to their small universe have increased strength. For they are no longer masters of an empty world, but a lively one instead." Yang Kai answered, attempting to explain.
"To some extent your thoughts are right. However, adapting the vessel is much easier when it comes to a furnace artifact, than it is to one's cultivation. It would be nice if everything was easy but that's not the case." I continued the explanation. "For an Open Heaven realm, to change the limit of their vessel, it is an absolute requirement to master the power of fate." I continued.
"I see… How does one…" Azure Feather started to ask then stopped realizing something extremely important. "The way the people in your small realm view you… That's how you start generating the power of fate. Little by little the power is generated. Interesting…" He continued, realizing what I would have responded with.
"Indeed, now then, I think I've done enough here for a while. Ma Fan, keep the place closed while you get some disciples to help you arrange the extra furnace rooms." I ordered. "While you do that, I guess I can go outside and do something else that will prove to be rather important." I said, with a wave of my hand as I turned around and walked out with my wife.
Just before I reached the door a space fluctuation appeared and out of it came a small phoenix, immediately followed by Su Yan. The phoenix landed on my shoulder to roost.
"Hmm, she's already this good, wow." I chuckled. "Mother." I said, greeting Su Yan properly.
"She kept complaining about wanting to see her big brother, so I brought her here once it was safe." Su Yan answered in response to my comment.
