It hadn't been a few moments after the door shut behind Yang Kai when, the Maid that had relayed the message to he and I, she began trembling. She was clearly worried about what might happen.
"What is it that has you so scared right now? If it's me, you shouldn't be. I'd never take a life without it being absolutely necessary. I even spared that one bastard who dared to lift a finger against my baby-sister-in-law… Almost a year ago now huh, time really does fly when one is busy." I said, raising a confused brow and a concerned face.
"Please forgive my rudeness earlier, Young Palace Master…" The Maid stammered in response to the sudden query, as she stiffened up, standing upright.
"Pfft, no, you were just doing what my wife asked of you. She doesn't want me to see what's going on in there. And to be honest it doesn't really matter if I see it or not. But to them, it seems like they get the feeling it might get harder to ask me to give them children of their own, should I witness what I'd undoubtedly be putting them through." I explained with a chuckle. "So you see, it's all out of care, or maybe, they really are being selfish? Huh? Either way it doesn't matter…" I added with a sigh.
The Maid, relaxing a little tilted her head to the side a little bit more than confused. She was straight up curious and bewildered by what she just heard and thus could help but ask. "Young Palace Master, may I ask what you mean by that?" She asked, then quickly covered her mouth.
"Oh my, here I thought that would end it. Well, I'm very good at sensing things related to me. And I also know that my power is beyond chaotic. If one was born with it… Well, they would struggle… I'm the only one alive who can control this type of reaction. Well, there might be two others but, both of them are incredibly far away and it's dangerous to bring them here." I explained, still wearing my concerned look. "In short, my baby sibling is going to have a difficult time in their first few moments without my direct involvement. I just hope she sees our father first. I don't want to confuse them too much." I continued with a chuckle.
"I'm afraid I still don't understand Young Palace Master. The best midwives the palace could find were brought here to do the deliveries. Surely with them here nothing could go wrong, right?" The Maid asked.
"Hmm, I suppose on that end you're right. But this isn't a delivery problem. It's more of a conflicting strengths trying to fight each other for dominance, yet only keep empowering each other as they fight. Not really something I'd expect many to understand, and that goes double for any cultivator without 2 refined elements. At the very least. And even then I doubt they would fully comprehend it." I explained, going back to waiting for the time I have to be ready for.
The maid, knowing that it would be useless to continue asking me questions, decided to remain quiet. Though her curiosity didn't fade by any remote degree. Something she clearly couldn't keep hidden as her eyes constantly took glances between myself and the door. It was clear she was hoping for the moment that every single one of her questions were answered.
Several minutes went by and turned into hours. Even if such lengths of time are basically nothing more than a short nap to those with lifespans in the infinite. It still had an effect on the Maid, she started thinking there was nothing wrong with what was going on, until… I vanished in a bolt of lightning opting to be as fast as possible.
Once I left the maid looked at the spot where I was just at. Her face puzzled at the sheer speed… And that was when my image finally dissipated from her view. "That's fast, I knew he vanished but I didn't see it happen until several breaths later… I have a long way to go." She murmured to herself in a low soft voice.
~ Delivery Room ~
Many of the Deliveries had already finished by this point, however in the case of Su Yan… Well, it wasn't so easy for her. Maybe that wasn't the full case. She had just given birth to her baby, a girl. But the body was cracking as if wanting to crumble away. A result of the two identities demanding full control. In other words a Mutually beneficial and self destructive war was being fought from within.
Su Yan and Yang Kai were both using their own arts in an effort to calm these two warring forces. However, staving off the effects of such an innate conflict from within was basically asking ordering the target to not be themselves. The only reason Su Yan and Yang Kai managed to even pull this much off was strictly due to them being her parents. However, the connection they had together was never intended to be used in this way. So even the two of them were struggling to deal with it.
"Leiji, can you save your baby-sister?!" This was the message Su Yan and Yang Kai practically screamed atop the mountain tops, and all basically inside my head. No way I'd mistake the reason for them calling me here.
"Quickly, give her to me." I said, preparing my arm to cradle my new born baby sister. One of the midwives placed her in my arm, nestling her in safely and comfortably.
"Her name is… Yang Xingjuan, your baby sister." Su Yan said, struggling to recover having used much of her source to keep my baby sister alive.
"Don't worry mother," I said, as my eyes glowed and auras erupted. "I can handle calming these two powers. Just like I said a year ago." I continued, with my free hand hovering over Yang Xingjuan's tiny devastated body. "You're not strong enough to handle this power all at once. So, until the day comes where you are able. I shall do it for you. I won't lose family on my watch." I added with a smile and flow of energy that clearly showed enough control to completely seal the battle of the sources for the time being.
