The room seemed to be filled with a thick angry aura. But… There was something about it that didn't seem like it was a bad anger. Even still I made sure to protect myself and my grandfather from the negative atmosphere. It's always best to keep such negative things from affecting one's mood. Otherwise you'll just end up pale in the face, much like how my grandfather looked when I arrived.
My grandmother was pacing around back and forth yelling Every chance she could think of something to yell. But it seemed like she had lost her voice from yelling so much.
"HOW COULD YOU! THIS!!!! AHHHH!" Dong Su Zhu yelled, trembling with anger. "YOU WENT AND HAD A BABY WITHOUT EVEN COMING TO PRESENT YOURSELF!!!" She continued yelling at Yang Xue and Yang Xiao.
Yang Xue was kneeling at one end of the room, crying. Liking for a great many reasons but the chief among them being what she thought might have to be done. There were many who had to do such things as end the pregnancy. It was actually far more common than one may assume. But, it wasn't as if it was entirely wanted.
Most families would still go through with it. Unless certain circumstances arose. Like the cost of raising a kid. Or the far more likely cases of their being a complication with the pregnancy. The worst one of all though, is rape… Such actions are deplorable. Forcing anyone to do something so massively against their will and putting their health at risk is not a good thing.
There are a few other circumstances when it can occur though. And that situation is playing out right in front of my Aunt Yang Xue. She doesn't want to give up like that, but she also knows it's going to be nearly impossible to get out of the current situation with everything she wants. She was even muttering the name of her master, Flowing Time. As if trying to invoke his name would help her through this.
Yang Xiao on the other hand, is likely quite happy that he is a dragon that has a naturally powerful body. Otherwise he might already have several very dangerous wounds. As it is now it's clear he's been getting beat, taking it like a champ. Just as he should do in this situation. I can say that violence isn't great and thus should be used only as the absolute last resort. And even then, never against family. So I do feel for him but, I can understand my grandmother's ire.
In all it's a tricky situation. I walk in calmly, being sure not to disturb the atmosphere any. And then I was right next to my grandmother, pouring her a cup of my specially brewed tea. As I poured the tea, the atmosphere began to calm down like the fragrant scent of the tea told off the anger. Pushing it all away. My grandmother was still fuming with anger though. And so she really needed to drink some tea.
"Grandmother, please have some tea." I said, handing Dong Su Zhu a full cup of tea. I wore a calm smile, one similar to the one that had melted Yang Ying Feng's heart earlier.
"Oh, thank you…" Dong Su Zhu said, taking the tea curiously. She was still agitated so it wasn't the nicest, nor grateful motion. And she went down the cup all at once. But as soon as it hit her lips, she started calming down instantly. "Ah, I feel… So much better." She said sitting down in a chair. "So, what is my darling little grandson doing here? I love getting to see you." She added, still a little confused, thought her heart was melting as she continued to sip on the tea.
I smiled trying to come up with a cover story then realized, she would see through that in less time than it takes for me to open my mouth. So I decided to go with the truth. "I came here to see if I could help resolve this problem." I said, keeping my smile as I kneeled down.
"Oh? And why is it you coming and not your father?" Dong Su Zhu probed, eyeing like a hawk from behind her cup of tea.
"My father asked me to come… He is quite busy at the moment with other family matters. And he said something about me being able to figure something out. But I want to hear from you, my beautiful and caring grandmother, the exact reason you're so angry." I explained.
"That ungrateful boy of mine, sending his boy to confront me instead. Quite the cunning move It's so much harder to yell at you." Dong Su Zhu grumbled, then looked down at her tea with a sigh. "You already know exactly why I'm so angry don't you?" She asked, relaxing as she spoke.
"I have a pretty good idea. But, if I am to offer any potential solutions to this problem I'll need more accurate information to go on. Don't want to think the rustling in the brush is a rabbit, only to find it was actually a tiger." I explained, nervously chuckling as I stored up a massive amount of energy. What I needed most was enough time to fully realize my plan.
"Fine! I'm not mad about Xue'er having a child. I'm actually super excited for it! I can't wait." Dong Su Zhu, relented after a few moments. "I'm pissed that this brat here got her pregnant without asking to be engaged at the very least. I'm her mother after all, I gave birth to my precious little girl. And he just took her like that." She continued, giving Yang Xiao a yell of a glare then took another sip of tea. "But the most troubling thing of all, they are of different generations and they aren't equal realms. And there isn't anything we can do about that." She mused, working through the cup of tea in her hands.
"I see, if that's the case, then there are two things that must be done by Yang Xiao. And something that I'm fairly certain even I'm going to have difficulty pulling off." I said looking at my aunt. "Aunt, you want to keep my cousin, don't you?" I asked.
"Yes! I want my baby!" Yang Xue exclaimed hopefully, through the tears running down her face.
I sighed and another cup appeared on the tray. Including the one in my grandmother's hands there was now 6.
