With the support of the Star Boundary, I dove into Lan Xun's Knowledge Sea. Rather what had been formerly a Knowledge Sea, anyways. Currently Lan Xun's condition was akin to a jigsaw puzzle. Only without any example of how it was supposed to look. Ones Soul and Knowledge Sea held a nearly inseparable bond. So if one was tattered to pieces, so too, was the other one.
"I have to restore Lan Xun's soul piece by piece. Fortunately for her, she has a Dao Seal, and it remained intact. Without this seal, she would have undoubtedly died long ago." I thought, and went to work at once.
Searching through the fragmented pieces I was searching for the first piece to start with. Birth. "Ah, there it is, I wonder if I can sense any ties with the other pieces through this one, the beginning of her soul." I thought, and focused. I tried sensing any possible connection. "No good, huh. Guess it's time." I sighed.
Using my own ability, I searched for every single fragment of Lan Xun's soul. I quickly labeled them and put them in distinct groups. Childhood, Teenager, Young Adult, and Adult. For each group I sub-divide them into Dao Source and Emperor Realm. Further dividing each and every group down to a point where I then sorted out each sub division.
It was a painstaking effort, but the results were undeniable to anyone watching. However, this took a lot out of me. As well as 2 whole days. I was already quite exhausted. "This is nothing like fighting the enemy. This requires much more finesse. And the hard part has finally come. The two of you should pay attention to this as well. It will have massive benefits for you both." I said to Shandain and Fang Qing.
"We've been watching this whole time. So don't worry about us and just focus on the task at hand. I'll help you if you need it." Fang Qing said, while Shandain nodded, excitedly.
"Good, then here goes. Starting from the beginning, I'll add some lightning to refine the soul back together. Lan Xun will have some things to resolve after the fact. But that can't be helped." I sighed annoyed. "Even after this Lan Xun might just try to push herself onto me anyways. I'd prefer otherwise, but who knows. Screw it, I'll just go for it and fix the problem in front of me now." I thought.
Beads of sweat had already been dripping from my body as it was. But now, there were far too many to count. It was clear that I was putting forth a great deal of effort. Using my fine control over lightning I began connecting the pieces of Lan Xun's soul. Avoiding any damage, of course, was difficult. And added a massive layer of difficulty.
~~2 Days Later~~
It had been a total of four days to treat Lan Xun. The surge of power left my body and I let my arms down. I fell asleep standing up, my eyes closed and I remained motionless. I passed out from extreme exhaustion. However, this display was only on the outside. Internally my mind was a mess. I was going through the method I used, over and over again. My physical body was far too exhausted to move. My mind wasn't.
Instead of Yang Kai coming in to check on me, it was Iron Blood Great Emperor. "Hmm, Temporal Thunder is alright. It's just a bit of physical exhaustion from having all of Star Boundary's power flowing through him for four days. But he is still awake in a sense. At least that's what it feels like." He said letting out a chuckle.
"Sir... Sir Iron Blood?" Lan Xun faintly started speaking, in a weary and confused tone. She had opened her eyes slightly after hearing the Iron Blood Great Emperor's voice, tickling her ear.
"So Nephew Temporal Thunder's efforts paid off. Welcome back Lan Xun. And try not to do anything too strenuous for now. Let me take a look at your condition now, and I'll explain everything while you rest and recover." Flower Shadow Great Emperor said, walking to the side of the bed, and performing an inspection of her own. "That nephew... he really is different. The control needed to pull this off..." She thought, as her eyes widened in surprise.
"Alright, we will leave the rest of Lan Xun's care to you and brother Wonderous Pill. Today Temporal Thunder performed a miracle on you Lan Xun. Make sure you thank him when you are feeling up to it. But don't worry yourself over it. My son isn't the type that would hold it against you." Yang Kai explained, wrapping my arm around his shoulders and supporting my body weight.
Lan Xun had tears forming in her eyes at the sound of that voice. "Thank you." She blubbered out.
Yang Kai left carrying me out and flying us back to High Heaven Palace. There I was assigned a fitting house that had been built up while I had been healing Lan Xun. I was then placed on a magnificent bed in what was clearly the master bedroom of the house.
My wives were given their own separate rooms in the house as well, though, it seemed like the house had been built with the idea I wouldn't remain at a total of 6 wives. How did I know all of this? Simple, I was connected to the Star Boundary and was able to be keenly aware of my surroundings. Even if someone were to try and sneak attack me, I could mobilize the Star Boundaries power to fight them.
That all being in place, my house was also assigned a dozen maid servants. They cleaned the place, brewed tea, and tended to wounds. Not that I needed anyone for the latter thing though. My wounds healed rather quickly on their own, consider that the result of brutally harsh conditions where I had been before.
~~The Next Day~~
"Ah! Now that was a good rest. I haven't slept that soundly in quite a long time." I said, sitting up as I stretched. And my sheets fell down, revealing my incredibly toned body, as well as the ever changing Storm Tattoo.
