Chapter 187 - A New Temple Master

Miao Fei Ping looked down at the disciples with a smile, knowing that he was going to be leaving soon. "Now that I have reached the critical juncture in my pursuit of the Dao. I must leave this world behind as it can no longer accommodate me. Do not fret for the Void Temple will choose a new master to lead you into the future. I wish you luck in the pursuit of the Dao. And Young Master, may we see each other again in a time of peace." He said, preparing to shatter the void and walk out.

"Here is a gift from my father, and one from me. You'll know what they are soon. May you have good fortune in both pursuit of the Dao and battle." I said, tossing a ring and a token up to him.

Miao Fei Ping took a single glance and nearly shuddered when he realized the extent of the token's power. "You have my thanks, Young Master. Until next time!" He said, gratefully.

Miao Fei Ping, the first master of the Void Temple, turned and took a step into the distance. A scene to show he goes forth to help protect the people he helped to raise. He was filled with emotion and continued. The Void finally gave way to Miao Fei Ping and sent him into what the others have no knowledge of, to them… it was the unknown. And the sight of shattering the void made some pass out and others fall to their knees. Those who could stand only looked in admiration.

"Temple Master looks so handsome! No matter what, I must find a way to follow him." A woman said, unknowingly admitting herself on the spot.

"Junior Sister Xia Fei. You spoke out loud just now. I don't think many heard you but try to control yourself. The day will come when you can…" Tang Wen said.

"When you can see him again. But for that to happen you must cultivate diligently. Ascend and break through the barriers before you and rise to the occasion. The Open Heaven Realm is not an easy thing to achieve. So work hard and hone your resolve for the future you have come to desire. Fight for it." I interjected.

"Young Master is right. But might I ask something? You seem unfazed by what just happened. Everyone else seems to be recovering from it. So why aren't you exactly?" Tang Wen asked, quite curiously.

"Ahahaha! The reason is simple. Former Temple Master Miao Fei Ping even at his peak strength just then was still weaker by a considerable margin than myself. However, once he finishes his break through… the same will be true in the reverse. For a little while anyways." I explained, tickled by the question.

"So then, when is it that Miao Fei Ping had to leave and you can stay?" Tang Wen asked, another one of the questions he had been curious about.

"For a few reasons. But to simplify it. While I am a separate entity from my father completely. I still can affect his Cultivation massively in a positive way. Whereas others would have a negative effect. Even now I am actively changing my Qi to match my fathers as closely as possible so I don't accidentally cause any problems. Though it has the side effect of making everyone around me revere me. But I bear with it for the time being. That said, there will be a day when he can no longer contain me as well. So I must do all I can to help him while he can accommodate me, while sowing seeds to continue the plans I have put in place." I explained further.

And then a light appeared around Tang Wen. Twisting and changing into a mixture of characters. "Temple Master" is what the words said.

"Congratulations, to Deacon Master Tang Wen, the New Temple Master!" The disciples, Deacons and Elders all chanted.

"I look forward to the future, always. May you do well as the new Temple Master Tang Wen." I said, with a calm salute.

"This… I am honored, however, I will not be able to do this job alone. I will rely on the Deacons, the Elders and every one of the Disciples to continue the way forward. May Void Temple be successful in their endeavors." Tang Wen said, with an overwhelming sense of righteousness.

The Void Temples Disciples and by extension the Void Worlds Disciples all paid their respects and cheered. Tang Wen seemed to be the best choice for this. And that is good, a true relief. After the crowd calmed down a bit, Tang Wen refocused his attention on me. Clearly about to do try asking me something, but planning it ahead of time.

"I hope that the Young Master will be willing to work with me and the plans I'd like to discuss." Tang Wen started, and actually bowed slightly, indicating that he was about to try begging if it came to that.

"If it is something I can help with and it does not interfere with anything then I see no reason not to lend a helping hand. So speak and let it be known." I said, expecting an answer.

"I wonder if it is inconvenient for the Young Master to continue his cultivation here on the platform? The disciples have benefited greatly from this experience. And I wish for that to continue. Perhaps this will drive the disciples to work harder." Temple Master Tang Wen asked.

"Ahahaha, alright then, I'll stay here. But on one condition. I can't leave the people in my village out of this. So I hope the Temple master can arrange some methods for them to make a trip. And there is a thing there… that I think my human race will find quite good for their cultivation as well. There are monster races that live in my village so only those that are unbothered by that should go." I said, declaring my intention.

"Since this is the case, then I will make it so. We can begin some sort of traveling exchange. So we both may benefit. And join the Dao Master outside of Void World!" Tang Wen said in agreement.
