After I left the room, I made my way to the now large guest house. The mansion that used to belong to the traitorous Vice-City Lord. I was quite tired after taking care of so many things on this particular trip. And I had yet to gain the benefits from all of my battles. My plan was to go and take a nice bath to get cleaned off. I was, after all, smelling quite awful to say the least. Fighting in such a disgusting place for so long, it was more than expected. Even during the conversation just earlier they were trying their hardest not to mention it. Likely out courtesy and consideration for what I had just accomplished. Such kind people.
~~Inside the meeting room~~
The City Lord, the Vice-City Lord and their wives sat there in silence. All of them were stunned by the degree of filial piety I had.
"That young man just gave up so much of the reward for his deeds. To think he gave most of it away to those other than himself." The Vice-City Lord said, finally breaking the silence.
"Indeed, though I should have asked him before. Who is his father? What good do the statues and mild degree of worship have for him?" The City Lord said, pondering his thoughts out loud.
"Perhaps his father has a unique cultivation method that requires others to worship him for improvement?" The Vice-City Lord's Wife said kicking her legs up to lay across her husband's lap like being princess carried. "I for one like his idea of increasing our population. I've been wanting another child for a while now. Will my husband listen to me this time?" She added staring into the Vice-City Lord's Eyes with a look that carried her intent. The intent was that she wasn't actually giving him a choice in the matter.
"What do you say we order sculptures to build statues of that young man as well?" The City Lord said after a long pause of thought.
"That sounds great! The Father & Son duo. I'm sure even that young man wouldn't mind. It would be hard for him to find fault with such a thing. Let's bring the Sculptors with us tomorrow to present the gift. That way they can see the image of the person themselves. Perhaps they will have some good ideas on how to work everything out." The City Lord's Wife said, caressing her husband's face.
"A Father and his Son… Hmmm… Let's make one large area with the most traffic the place where we build this Statue. We can build a new market place around this new plaza. What do you think about this idea?" The City Lord said, looking over to the Vice-City Lord.
"Great plan! Though I think we should add a little something else. Perhaps in honor of the young man's final request there. Let's hire some interested Alchemist to help and set up an alchemist's shop with the extra service of providing supplements to help couples conceive. Even if it only makes it slightly easier it will be worth it." The Vice-City Lord said, not breaking eye contact with his wife. He had still not answered her before he spoke just now. However, his words held the answer she had been seeking the whole time.
"I have a feeling that young man will continue to do great things in the future. Let us make sure that we build the new plaza to absolute perfection." The City Lord said. "Now to find those people who wish to go along with him. Any ideas?" He added, changing the subject.
"How about we send out a notice for migration. The people with eager hearts will come on their own. From there the young man can choose." The City Lord's wife said, quickly. She was quite eager to get to their alone time.
"Then it is settled. I will invite the sculptors and send out the notice. You take care of the financial and provisional side of things. Afterwards we can discuss where we are going to put the new Plaza. It will be expensive, though the palace should be funding the whole thing. In this way we can collect a proper tax and keep the area under proper surveillance." The City Lord said, dividing up the workload.
"Understood, and we can get plenty of workers to help with the construction if we play it as our apologies to the people and our offering of thanks to the one who saved us. Now then, let us begin. Hopefully the traitorous bastard didn't screw everything up too badly with the finances that is." The Vice City Lord said standing up still princess carrying his wife.
~~In the Guest Mansion~~
I finally got a moment to relax and cleanse the stench off my body. When I say that the bath felt good. I mean it felt amazing. Nothing better than a light herbal bath after a long day of fighting those "Evil Shadow Sect" criminals. I sat at the edge of the bath and laid my arms on the edge while I relaxed bathing in the tub. It was a well deserved moment of peace for myself. Much had happened in such a short time and it was always a good idea to just… lean back and relax in some nice warm water.
"Hehehe, stop it. That tickles." A young woman's voice sounded out in the bath.
"Don't worry about it. They are just excited to have a bath. I'll continue to lay here and relax. Just close my eyes and enjoy the calming sensation wash over me." I whispered to myself.
*Splish Splash* *Splish Splash* *Giggling*
"Young Master, would you like me to wash your back?" One of the women I had saved earlier asked standing over top of me.
"No, that is fine, I can take care of it myself. You should enjoy the bath. You deserve to relax and enjoy the peaceful moment." I said, hoping to avoid an awkward moment. I also wanted to send her away since I could sense that she was standing right over me.
