I saw three magma creatures below us and they were heavily dense with flame essence , Magna Spawns no doubt .
They wouldn't go down easy .
I raised my hands and drew out my energy , shaping it into two long whips . While I was doing that , Cazra raised his hand and a darkness swirled around his palm . From it , he withdrew a giant scythe with two blades instead one .
When we landed , I immediately twirled around with my whips lashing the Spawns . Cazra had already jumped into the air , ready to strike the one that came for me first . It was the one on the left . It charged straight for me , it's body like a rhinoceros made of burning trees and melting plastic . It's eyes were hollow holes that produced smoke and don't even get me started on the smell.
Just as it reached me , Cazra struck down with his scythe and I jumped up to attack the Spawn that was now charging . I struck with my whips , and grabbed it around the waist or what could be called a waist . I pulled hard and lifted it into the air before smashing it into the other Spawn next to it . There was the resounding bang as their bodies collided with each other .
They didn't seem so hard , Steve said inside my head or rather his head .
I rolled my eyes , or rather his eyes . Then a crackling sound rose from the two Spawns and I saw their skin meld together and their essence fuse . A moment later , a giant creature with the body of a two mismatched spawns arose . It stood tall and large above us and Cazra joined me after killing his spawn .
" Well , that's a face only a mother could love ." I said with distaste .
" Now what ? " he asked me .
" Well ... you said you wanted to kill them all . " I said with a smile ," How about I go away and leave you to it ? "
" It was dumb humour . Please , don't let me deal with this alone ." Cazra said with a small smile .
" Alright. We're going to have to strike it hard . Probably use up a blast of power too ! " I yelled .
Why was I yelling ? Well , the giant spawn was attacking us as we spoke and we had to dodge it or be crushed . Yelling was also , the only way to hear each other over the loud roaring it was doing .
I floated up into the air and evaded a giant limb shaked like a pig hoof . I raised my hands and sent a blast into it's center , the Spawn fell back ... but rose up again and charged at me . I floated higher and flipped above it's head as it lunged for me .
Good thing about size is that it slows an opponent down . But it didn't lessen strength as I realized when the Spawn smashed the wall with two of it's hooves and stone started falling . I floated and dodged as well as I could but eventually got hit on my ( Steve's ) shoulder and I flew down .
Argh , I thought miserably , I hated being in a mortal body . If it was my essence , this stone attack would be nothing . But this body just sat there and took the injury .
" Jump ! " Cazra yelled and I did it without asking why . I felt like a dog for a second but was instantly grateful when I saw the ground collapse and the Spawn fall down into a pit.
" Well , that should hold him for a while . Let's use that door ." Cazra said coming up next to me , we were floating above a pit where the Spawn lay roaring fire and bashing the walls . I turned to the door he indicated but before we could move towards it , crows started flying in from above.
Atleast to the human eye they would appear as crows but they were infact the separated essence of one of Voc's most deadly djinn . " Ashers . What are we going to do ? " I asked looking around us .
" Fight or die . " Cazra said holding his scythe and looking around as the crows formed into tall black and red creatures with teeth and no eyes . And vicious claws as I saw when one lunged for me and broke a hole in the wall .
This was getting serious .
I drew out my power and formed it into a sphere and it floated in the air . " Close your eyes . " I said and Cazra obeyed . I sent a burst of my essence into the sphere and it blew up bright with a light so powerful it shined on all three planes. When it faded , the Ashers were clawing at the walls , having been temporary blinded.
Just because they don't have eyes doesn't mean they don't see , dearies .
Ummm , who are you talking to ? Steve asked inside his mind but I couldn't answer him . We didn't have the time .
We quickly went through the door before the Ashers could recover and we did what anyone would have done ; we ran . Now that our position was known , we had to get the Corpse and his Beloved out as soon as possible . Other creatures were probably hunting us as we moved . We needed to get out and fast !
I sensed that the Corpse and Beloved were atleast half a mile ahead of us . But I also sensed a strong stench of burnt flesh and blood which made me nauseous and scared knowing where it was coming from . But I didn't come all this way to turn back now !
" They're ahead of us but so is Voc , I think. " I told Cazra ," I'll deal with him whilst you get the Corpse and Beloved out of there . "
" You're no match for him . " Cazra reminded me .
" Thanks for the confidence boost , brother but I don't need it . I'll be fine , I'm not aiming to destroy him . " I said ," I'll keep him distracted . "
" I can do that . Why does it have to be you ? " he asked me.
" Just hurry up and do it . I'll explain later . " I said as we reached a stairway . I looked at the bottom where a door was. They were behind there. We floated to it and I raised my hand .
Well here goes ,I thought cynically , and shot a wave of power through the door . I jumped inside and sensing a djinn presence I fired my power at where it was coming from . I drew as much as I could and more .
But sadly it wasn't enough . With a wave of power , Voc sent me flying to the nearest wall . The human body took that injury badly and I felt weakness creep in but fought it down . I rose up slowly and raised my hand again but Voc came up fast as lightning and pinned it to the wall .
" How dare you . " he said through gritted sharp teeth and it made it slightly hard to understand what he said but his face spoke volumes . " You have enraged me ! " he said his eyes glowing a deadly red and I knew I was finished .
" Stop ! " a voice yelled and a cold wind blew into the room . Voc turned sharply , probably didn't like someone telling him what to do. I turned to the voice aswell and saw Zascare walking into the room .
" Do not command me , Djinn Reaper ." Voc said and Zascare tisked his tongue .
Why wasn't he fighting him ? Couldn't he see my predicament ? I wondered .
" Some general of war you are ," he said instead and snapped his fingers , " You let the prisoners almost escape . "
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw tendrils of ice like spiders come in carrying the Corpse , his Beloved and Cazra .
What was he doing ?
" Oh , sister . What's the matter ? Why that look of confusion ? " Zascare said walking up to me and Voc released me .
" What are you doing ? " I demanded and he gave me chilled smile.
"It's called betrayal . " He said ," Surprise . " He raised his hand and blast of ice knocked my head back and I saw only darkness.
