It isn't historically accurate for black people to be the focus in Victorian England (though there are black aristocrats), I'm writing this to be Afrocentric anyway because I want representation. There will be more members of the queer community within this story, but I'm keeping the element of homophobia extremely prominent for the angsty feeling of having to conceal relationships.
There will also be discussion and depictions of extremely triggering topics. Self-harm, murder, suicide, attempted sexual assault, homophobia, transphobia, and just generally unsettling atmosphere.
Also! Chapters marked with "[S]" indicate that there is smut present.
