Chereads / BRIDE of THE MIST / Chapter 15 - Epilogue

Chapter 15 - Epilogue

Ten years had passed since Lily and David's wedding day, and they had built a life together that was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They had traveled the world, pursued their passions, and faced challenges together that had only strengthened their bond.

As they celebrated their tenth anniversary, Lily and David looked back on their life together with gratitude and joy. They had been blessed with two children, a boy and a girl, who had brought them immeasurable joy and had kept them busy with school events, soccer games, and dance recitals.

Lily had continued to work as a nurse, but she had also pursued her dream of becoming a midwife. David had left his job in finance to start a new business, and he had thrived as an entrepreneur.

Despite the many changes that had come their way, Lily and David's love had only grown stronger. They still laughed at each other's jokes, held hands on long walks, and stole kisses whenever they could.

As they sat together on their porch, watching the sunset over the mountains, Lily leaned her head on David's shoulder and sighed contentedly.

"I still can't believe how lucky we are," she said softly.

David wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close. "I know. It's like we're living in a fairy tale."

Lily smiled up at him. "You know, sometimes I still think about that mist. If it hadn't been for that, we might never have met."

David chuckled. "I know. It's funny how life works sometimes."

They sat in silence for a few moments, watching as the sun dipped below the horizon.

"I love you, David," Lily said, breaking the quiet.

David leaned down and kissed her forehead. "I love you too, Lily. More than anything."

As they settled back into their chairs, Lily felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew that life would continue to bring them challenges, but as long as they had each other, they could face anything together.

The mist had brought them together, but it was their love that had kept them together. And for that, Lily was eternally grateful.
