Zhang Wei muttered in disbelief. He spared no strength on that last attack, it could even be said that it was his most powerful skill. Yet it was unable to so much as touch the other party.

While Zhang Wei was going crazy at the absurdity of the situation, Yang Chen was going through an emotional turmoil of his own.

"You!! Sigh, nevermind. I need to focus on my fight right now" Yang Chen sighed, already somewhat used to the antique of the demon.
He was so caught up in his conversation with Amon that he failed to realise how relaxed and comfortably he was fighting Zhang Wei even though he was one whole level weaker than him.
This was something that the party himself did not realise. Although he was up against a more powerful enemy, when it came down to it, he was not at a disadvantage at all.
Yang Chen's foundation which was built after levelling and hunting demonic beasts inside the star fall jungle during these past few days, could be considered pretty solid due to the support of the Greedvil system.
It stabilised, managed and organised the growth of his battle energy and physical body in the best and most optimum way possible.
Yang Chen was severely malnourished and was quite short when he first entered the forest. However, the him right now had grown taller, leaner and had adequate muscles just like an athlete.
Even his skin and facial structure were slowly being affected by his growth. So if one had to put it, the Eight Star Yang Chen's foundation and physical body was much more stable and solid than even Zhang Wei who had gained all of his achievements through his clan's support.
Additionally, Yang Chen was currently under the effects of energy gathering elixir and endurance pill. As such, his body was overflowing with battle energy.
"It cannot be, I will not accept this. A lowly servant shouldn't be able to surpass me. I'm one of the most outstanding younger generations of the Zhang clan" Zhang Wei roared, his eyes masked with insanity.
Unable to accept the reality, all of his rationality flew out of his head. He dished out one attack after another without any care or concern for his life. He even forgot to regulate his battle energy and keep tabs on his battle skill [Battle Fervour] whose effects were about to wear off.
Locked in an intense fight with Zhang Wei, Yang Chen who was keeping a calm head, did not miss this opportunity and pounced on the first signs of it.
In that split second, he activated [Burst Steps] skill, dodged the sword stab that came from Zhang Wei, appeared behind him and unleashed the Eight Fold Split.
Three colourless blade shadows flew through the air and attacked Zhang Wei's back at the exact same time. The guy had lost his calm momentarily due to anger and by the time he finally gained some clarity, it was already too late.
Three blade shadows dug through his body and managed to reach his internal organs.
PUFF… blood spewed out and with a thud, Zhang Wei's cold lifeless body fell to the ground.

Yang Chen exhaled deep breaths of air, but he did not relax immediately. His eyes shifted towards the place where the leader of the hunter band was only to see the latter dart towards the depth of the forest.
This bastard was too quick to flee once again.
Yang Chen activated his burst step and gave chase; however, the latter had already opened a significant amount of distance from him and quickly disappeared inside the forest. As a veteran hunter who had been hunting in this forest for a very long time, he knew the place like the back of his hand.
Although Yang Chen gave chase, he was physically exhausted to pursue too deep into the forest. Thus, he stopped and turned around after failing to catch the glimpse of the other party.
Now that he had killed his pursuers, it was time to collect his rewards.
Killing Zhang Wei gave him 600 mischief points. Adding that to his previous total, he had accumulated a sum of 3225 points.
Yang Chen had a delighted smile on his face as he rummaged through the belongings of these people from the Zhang clan. He did not bother to search the bodies of the eight lackeys who were brought over by Zhang Wei because he knew that they wouldn't have anything valuable with them.

As such, he rummaged through Zhang Wei's body hoping to find these battle skills. Though he did not have much hope, to his surprise Yang Chen soon found something in the breast pocket of his clothes.

The mid tier earth grade battle skill used three profound nodes near the abdomen to increase one's aura.
Mastering the skill to intermediate completion stage opens one node, advance stage opens two while peak opens all three of them.
If one opens all three nodes their aura would be powerful enough to even overlook the difference of a level.
