Drexel took Ava to a room and roughly dropped her on the bed.
"Ahhh" she cried out.
Drexel marvels at her complaint about everything.
"ish, what a crybaby," he mumbled to himself.
After crying out as if he had thrown her down from the top of the mountain, she lay down motionless.
"What again?" Drexel asked, if not for this unknown curse that had to bind them together he was never someone that will stoop to anyone's level of understanding.
She did not answer him and continued pretending to have fainted.
Drexel move towards the big family-size bed where he had dropped her and with one of his hands placed on the bedside slightly above her head, he undid the first button of her oversized coat.
She immediately pushes him off her and covers her chest where he had undone the button with her hands.
He stood up from the bed and gaze at this little kitten who dares to taunt him.
"The next time you play such foolish trick with me I will make sure I pull off all your clothes!" he said with clear wrath.
"I'm sorry, I slept off immediately my head hit the bed" she apologized.
Drexel was taken aback by her lies, what the hell did she take me for? a fool? He found himself asking those questions.
"Hey, you!" he screamed out all of a sudden making her jolt in fear.
Her eyes were already brimming with tears.
He noticed it and shook his head placing his long slender fingers in between his lips, a gesture for her to keep quiet and not cry.
But Ava won't stop crying will she, a tear dropped down her eyes regardless of his calm instructions.
Drexel twirls and wipe his face with his palm so she won't see the tear that had just fallen down his face.
He swallowed hard as he was not used to petting anyone and what he was about to let out feels so foreign to him.
"you look ugly when you cry so try not to cry much," he said trying to cheer her up.
She look up at him and as if she had heard nothing, shifted her gaze down to the floor again, but this time she did not tear up.
"Though either way, you are not that pretty, " he mumbled and Ava look up at him inquiring about what she just heard as it was not clear enough in her ears.
Drexel palmed his face, "Nothing, just go to that bathroom and shower, then you come downstairs for breakfast," he said to her calmly.
For the first time since she was bundled here, she breathed out a sigh of relief.
Ava stared at him, her stares holding questions gesturing for him to leave but Drexel being Drexel just stood there with his hands at his back.
"I want to undress," she finally said.
Without a word, he left her and close the door behind him.
When Drexel knows he was finally out of sight, where no one can see him, he thumbed up at himself for a job well done, he let out a fulfilling sigh and headed towards his bedroom which was just adjacent to the one he had taken Ava.
Back in the bedroom, Ava had just undressed and stood in front of the mirror with a stubborn smile she said.
"I had to pretend that am not going to try and escape, so when I finally got out of this death hole it will come as a shock to all of them," she smiled at her brilliant plan.
"But first, how do I escape without getting caught by those huge guards around the house?" with her hands on her chin, she questioned herself.
Ava turn on the shower and walk right in the middle of it, she loved the refreshing chill it gave to her body.
"I will think of how to deal with them later, for now, I will eat, sleep and dine with my enemies, I won't die that easily!" she yelled with vigor a renewed strength she had gotten from the refreshing water.
Ava came out of the bathroom and her gaze fell on those four servants that were staring at her dead in the eyes back at that dark room.
What are they doing here? She thought.
One of the servants with short blond hair gestures her towards a long milk color gown on the bed, now that she looks around the bedroom, this bedroom was nothing like her small apartment, it can not even be compared to her room back in the slum.
The bed which was large with a red rose design bedsheet was well tucked, and the milk-colored duvet which halfway cover the huge red rose drawn on the bed sheet made the sight of the bed breathtaking and magnificent, she turn her gaze towards the window and there, those wine colored curtains hang so beautiful complementing the huge master bedroom, the room finished up with two paintings of a woman with two faces and the second was a faceless man with a hat.
"weird," Ava said as she ignores the servant's call and move to have a feel of that painting, she stretch her hands only for one of the servants with a ponytail behind her back and a mean look, to stand between her and the painting.
"Young master will not be happy if he learns you touch his things without permission," she said with clear hatred in her speech.
I just want to see it, why be so mean about it?" Ava thought, so she still reach out her hands slightly above the servant's shoulder to touch the painting but she was dragged roughly by the tall slender servants.
"Keep your hands off it!" she yelled smacking Ava on her head.
though I should be two years older than her but she is taller and a bit intimidating with her mean and aggressive behavior.
Ava pushed her to the ground, "how dare she smack my head because I was not tall and my height made her think she can intimidate me, I won't answer to your master and answer to you too," she thought in her head as she shot her hot gaze, eyeing her from her toes to her head.
the rest of the servants who stood not saying anything ran to her side to help her onto her feet but she pushed them off her.
"Who do you think you are!" she screamed at her.
Ava ignored her and went straight to those paintings as if they were calling out to her.
"Beautifully weird," Ava complimented as she ran her hands over it.
she had hoped the mean servants not come after her for trouble as she wore nothing underneath, she had only a peach towel on.
"You!" she heard the familiar voice of the mean servants and she turn around she saw a punch pointed right at her nose. Ava turn her face expecting a punch in her side jaw but the pain didn't come, she waited for a second more and peep through with her left eye.
the sight she saw baffled her, all the rest of the three servants had their gaze fixed on the floor in guilt and then she look at the two people in front of her, the mean man that had kidnapped her and the mean servant.
he had covered the servant's punch with his palm stopping her some inch away from her face.
Ava's green eyes widened in shock, why is he here again?" she questioned herself.
"you always have the nerve of placing yourself in the middle of danger," he said with a glance at her.
"How is it my fault now" I questioned him in my thought.
As if he heard me, he let go of the servant's hand with a slight push which made her fall to the ground.
"How dare you disobey my order? and you dared to treat my guest in such a manner!" he said in a calm but threatening voice, the room echoed with his thick commanding voice.
"I will have your two fingers chopped off for laying a hand on my guest," he added.
Ava was shocked to her knee at his words, "chopped her..her.. her fingers?" she stammered.
Ava was too focused on the girls and her adaptor that she didn't see the other man that had entered with him.
the man had a shorthand light-colored shirt on and a pair of black short trousers, he moved towards the servant who didn't utter a word as if she had just swallowed an egg that is stopping her from opening her mouth to plead.
the man bent down to drag the servant out.
Ava ran and stood in between them.
"take me too," she said.
all the people present in that room were shocked by her sudden request, they all wonder at her foolish bravery.
"What gives her the nerve to offer herself in place of her tormentor," Drexel did not know when a smile crept onto his face.
