Chapter 11 - "Health(?)"

"Is this real?" she thought, addressing the system.

[Ding!]

The notification sound confirmed that it was real. Mingya looked at the window and examined her status.

"Level 1? Experience 0/100? Job and title none?" she murmured to herself.

She was confused but at the same time intrigued. She had always loved system novels, and the fact that she now had a system of her own was exciting. She decided to explore the window further and clicked on the "Skills" section.

"That's not surprising, considering my background," Mingya thought, regarding her expert level in literature and beginner level in history.

However, she knew the real reason for her lack of knowledge in history - she simply didn't know the full history of this novel's world.

She was slightly disappointed that she didn't have any combat-related skills but was intrigued by the "Potential" section.

"Swordsmanship at 75%? What does that mean?" she wondered.

As she thought about it, the system responded with a notification sound.

[Ding!]

[Potential: Swordsmanship - Your potential in swordsmanship is high due to your bloodline. With proper training and practice, you have the potential to become a skilled swordsman.]

Mingya was surprised to hear that her bloodline had an impact on her potential. She wondered what other potentials she had but was disappointed to see that the second potential was unknown.

"I guess I'll have to figure out what that is," she thought.

As she was lost in thought, the system beeped once again.

[Ding!]

[Plot Deviation Percentage: 0% - The story is following the original plot. No deviations have occurred.]

Mingya was confused by the "Plot Deviation Percentage." She wondered what it meant and why it was at 0%. She decided to ask the system.

"System, what does 'Plot Deviation Percentage' mean?" she thought.

[Ding!]

[Plot Deviation Percentage - The percentage of deviation from the original plot. As of now, the story is following the original plot, and no deviations have occurred.]

Mingya was confused, "But the plot of the novel hasn't even started yet. Why is it being displayed?"

However, she quickly recalled that the actions she takes now could have an impact on the plot three months later. That must be why the system was already showing the deviation percentage.

Mingya murmured to herself, "I need to be careful with my actions, so I don't cause any unwanted deviations in the story."

Suddenly she noticed a question mark next to her Health.

"Why is there a question mark next to my health?"

She tried to access the system for an explanation, but all she got were error messages.

[Ding!]

[System error detected. Unable to provide information at this time. Determining cause...]

Mingya furrowed her brows in frustration. "What kind of cause? Can you be more specific?" she asked the system, hoping for some clarity.

After a few moments of processing, the system replied,

[There appears to be a variable in your body that may or may not affect your health. Further analysis is required to determine the exact nature of the variable.]

"I suppose I'll have to figure this out on my own," she muttered to herself.

"Maybe I should try to find a healer or someone with medical knowledge to check my health."

Mingya then remembered the key and the blank book.

She frantically searched the room for them, but they were nowhere to be found. She decided to ask the system if it had any information on the mysterious key.

"System, do you have any information on the key that I found earlier?" she thought.

[Ding!]

[Authority insufficient.]

"What do you mean 'authority insufficient'? You're the system, you should know everything!" she exclaimed.

[Ding!]

[My apologies, but I am only authorized to provide information within certain parameters.]

Mingya shrugged to herself. "Well, that's helpful," she muttered.

Just then, the maid arrived with a glass of water for her. As Mingya was drinking the water, the maid suddenly spoke up. She was an older maid, probably in her late fifties, with a warm smile and gentle eyes.

"Oh, by the way, Miss Charlotte, I heard that your fiancé, Edward Lancaster, will be arriving at the manor tomorrow morning," the maid said nonchalantly.

Mingya spits out the water from her mouth in shock. "What?! he's coming here?", she exclaimed.

The maid looked at her with concern. "Are you okay, Miss?"

Mingya frantically nodded. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. I just...I didn't expect him to come here so soon," she stammered.

The maid chuckled. "Well, you better start preparing yourself, Miss. Your fiance is quite the catch. You wouldn't want to disappoint him," she said with a wink.

Mingya rolled her eyes. "I'll keep that in mind," she muttered under her breath.
