In the veil of shadows, Anubis still kept watch of the demons that tried to escape hell through a crystal ball. Those who squeezed through the gates were caught and torn to bits by the many damned souls that swarmed the pit and as for the few who barely manage to make it over the pit into the open dark waters, he was there to stop them before they reached the surface.
After one of his ventures to the pit, he warps back to the desert veil soaking wet and finds Hadraniel waiting for him. He has a crystal ball with him that he holds out to Anubis.
"Look," he says firmly, "He's learning, he created a celestial body like it was nothing. What happens when he realizes that he only just scratched the surface?"
