Chapter 46 - forty five

The marriage lasted till pitch dark the second day. Gradually night came and very unique from the others. It was a night filled with silence from the outside world. Things could never continue like that indefinitely. It would soon come to an end and it did. It was the beginning of another chapter of their life. Mrs. Zack seemed hypnotized by these moments. It seemed that the event would never end.

Finally, barflies, hawks and prostitutes waylaid front and back in search of people wine an money.

Everything about the weeding had a torch of different and class. Soon she joined Mr. Zack to her new home. A perfect young man with no guilt from outside.

Then what followed was honeymoon, a ritual for all modern marriages. To them many honeymoons had been made and this was the second, third, fourth, fifth and who knows. It was a ritual for civilized marriages in Africa which in itself was not wrong. It was better of now that they had gotten all marriage legalities and the Lords backing. What a feeling it came with! It would be the last, the most treasure with its all night ever living memories, the legal honeymoon which would frantically and in time reveal the many adequacies and inadequacies of the couples.

As an afterthought she chuckles! "Such a pleasant old memories. All pleasures goes with risk"

Many reasons for such chuckled were only known to her. Like a young tree in a lively soil, Zack was broken off and by landing space were his lovely wife and children. After their marriage, they formed one of the notable married couples, outstanding and marvelous, well-matched pair. How time flies! It was some two years back.

Zack has died on a plane crash with men of his party on board. The vibrant Zack had poured into the state of hope of striking it rich even before he was forty. Suddenly he got fixed up to politics and had many eyes fixed on him for posts. He had maintained holding series of post as a minister for finance and visiting speaker to many international gatherings. It was a short time service to humanity, a crash of ambition, a clash of will, the end to continuity.

He had sold his fantasy to the public earlier to aspire for the seat of the President. It could have been a break in history to find someone of his exposure and age took the leadership baton of leadership from Africa.  Little did he know that his end was eminent. On a special trip to Canada with his men as the crew on board, they were heading to the city of Montreal before the hour of nine the next day.

The young intern had just arrived fully dressed as a qualified pilot. No one bothered to ask question on his credibility. He was well trusted and relied on for safety. But by his look, rumor thrived. He was too young to be competent and too fearful to be a professional or expert in matters of technical and geographical experience. As master of the air, they were expecting some confidence in his look which was lacking. He was little above twenty-seven, but nothing-below twenty-five. Sometimes there may be diversions into other countries or taking other necessary safety rule which he should naturally know how to handle. These holes in his profession and technically brought up the rumor that thrived in the gallery as passengers and men of the airways watched.

Everything about the movement of the plane was suspicious at first and always. No announcement was made over loud speakers as it was taken off. Few stewards and stewardess standing wore an unusual countenance, not so bright for a competent staff. They were not in a position to complain. They knew that in any moment after its departure anything bad would happen. They also knew the class of people that would be lost in case of eventuality. It involves life, precious and innocent lives. To make matters worse, information about entering and landing of the plane were shared on a piece of paper. Quietly, unannounced the metal bird filled with passengers was airborne.

When the airplane took off, the maximum engine powers which are required for an airplane was missing and then the divided attention of the flight crew. No teamwork, no organization. It finally took off, after it had taxied to the far end of the runway and in less than an hour in the air, the unexpected happened. The plane was swaying side-by-side few minutes after it had taken out like a bird enjoying the diversion of a fellow bird. There were many short-term negotiations in the cockpit and the passengers were ignorant of it all. They had only one ambition in mind, to land safely on the airport in any reasonable moment and to carry out their business in the heart of the capital city of Canada, Montreal. It all backfired. Exhausted, the plane landed well in the valley where they saw no signs of life. A bad place that lowered its face to the mighty lake. It was the coldest part at that time of the year with low temperature. The plane made several attempt and was soon on the air, below, just close to the earth. There was no reason to believe that there was any hope for these residents of the metal bird. Everyone was in prayer. Christians in Jesus name, Mary, Holy Ghost, blessed trinity, the apostles and Muslims in the name of Muhammad to Allah. Anything that could be remembered. The rosary and … anything, everything. God was needed to come to a rescue. His very attention. His children would just die if he were late. His children, many who had paid tithes and have gone on Hajii, Mecca, Jerusalem, Rome, and mountains. Who have given alms to the poor and sponsored scholarship to many fatherless children. God where are you? We need you.
