"Well Marie, I wanted your friend, but since she is not here, you will bear the brunt of her actions," he said as he dragged her out of the Marque and started towards the forest.
"My lord, please," Marie begged, struggling to resist, but all her attempts were futile.
"Actions have consequences, Marie, and this is the consequence of yours!" he retorted without looking back at her. He was going to make her pay for the humiliation he suffered earlier, and nothing was going to stop him.
"My lord, please," tears raced down her cheeks. Fear gripped her as her mind raced through all the bad things he could do to hurt her. The worst part was nobody was going to save her. The one person who could save her was away having the time of her life.
Zarek ignored all her pleas and dragged her into the forest. It was dark and cold, and suitable for the punishment he had in mind. He grinned at the thought.
