"Alright then. The first direct attempt was with the poisoned drink," he nodded. "And the second was with the poisoned stab, and then there was Badak," he added.
"The first two seem to be related. They had two things in common: witchcraft, but it ended with the death of Marie," she continued.
"I would have thought that Badak was working independently, but then he was murdered, which points out that someone else used him to attack me," he dragged his hand through his hair. None of this was making sense to him.
"And Badak died with the information that would have led us to this new villain," she paused. "But isn't it quite convenient that this second person decides to kill you right after Marie died? What if he was working together with Marie?" she asked.
This was very confusing, and it irked her that the more she thought about it, the more her confusion grew.
