"I will make your life miserable!" Dreja said, her eyes burning with indignation.
"Join the queue!"
Levina marveled at how easily she made enemies, even without trying. All she needed to do to make a new enemy was breathe.
When Dreja stormed out, Levina sighed. She was beginning to feel tired from having to constantly prove that she was not an enemy. All she wanted was a quiet life. Was that too much to ask for?
When she finally found her uniform, she removed it from its hanger and quickly changed into it. She was going to throw herself into her work as always, and hopefully, she would drown out everything that threatened her peace.
.....
Levina sighed as she stitched the last of the wound. "All done," she smiled at the young boy.
"Thank you."
She helped the boy stand to his feet. "Don't exert too much pressure on this hand, or else the stitches will come undone, and you'll have to come back for more stitches."
