We both turned back to the woman.
"Hard to imagine, right? After all, she has those nasty scars on her arms."
"Yeah." Deep scars that looked like battle wounds filled her arms, up to the point where her gown covered.
"She was a warrior and a jewel, truly a blessing to the village and to her family. Strong and loving. A pity I sent her to that battle.
"A few months after Reina was born, I asked her to fight alongside against a being that I'd been chasing for some time, she did, but it didn't work out, and ultimately she died." Solomon shrugged. "What a waste." Staring at the woman all the while.
"So that's why."
"Why what?"
"Throughout my life, you've never left this village; only one or two trips, but otherwise, you've always been here." I looked at him. "It's because it's still alive, isn't it? That being."
He looked down at ne and smiled. "Nothing slips past you, I see."
"What other reason do you have to tell me that story?"
"Hahaha! True! True!" He laughed. "That being's involved in something I'm researching, and it's also involved with that Father Time you're so interested in."
"So you want to recruit me? You know I'm not as strong as her, right?"
"But you don't die." Solomon said with a cocky expression.
"...a'ight then."
"Great!" He clapped his hands with a broad smile on his face. "Now then, let's go." We walked together.
"Where to?"
"Your place. Can't take you without your parents permission.
"Mm."
