Nina got dressed and headed out of her room. She met her father and mother in the living room, talking to one another. She wanted to turn back to pass another exit but they had already seen her. It was too late.
"Nina, come here." Her mother, Margaret called her. Nina was too ashamed to even look up. Her mother thought of her as her innocent baby and she was sure she had ruined that image.
Nina didn't like most people but she didn't joke with her mother. Her mother pampered her, cared for her and supported her no matter what she did.
She headed to the chair opposite the ones her parents sat on, with her head still down. Her parents didn't say anything for a while and neither did she.
"Honey, I know you didn't mean to do what you did. But the damage has already been done. You need to find a way to get Ryder to forgive you and your engagement would also continue." There was no way Margaret would believe that her daughter would do such a thing willingly.
