It was now lunch time. Mr Singhania had arranged for lunch in the haveli itself.
" I think we should be returning to the Haveli. It is almost lunch time. I have arranged for pure Rajesthani lunch in the Haveli it self." Requested Mr Singh.
"Ok Let's go." Prof Dixit ordered.
Everyone got up and boarded the jeep. Snigdha boarded the jeep. She looked up to find Abhijeet in the front seat, eyeing her from the rare view mirror. She looked down as if she found her dress more interesting, blushing and smiling to herself shyly.
They reached the Haveli after half an hour. Everyone started getting off, as Snigdha got off and started going towards the Haveli someone held her hand. She turned back to find Abhijeet had stopped her. He pulled her to him, as his free hand snaked around her waist.
" Why are you so familiar?" He whispered looking into her eyes.
He carressed her cheek softly.
" Why does it feel like I've held you before, touched you before?" He asked, as he touched her lips with his thumb.
Snigdha closed her eyes.
" And kissed you before." He asked in wonder.
" Do you know I keep having flashes of you in mind. Flashes of some other life, some other time.Tell me have we met before?" He asked.
" I don't know Abhijeet." Snigdha answered.
She had braced her self with her hand on his chest.
" I'm having the same feeling. I don't know why. But whenever I look into your eyes I feel like I know them. But this is so strange. We have just met. It has hardly been a few hour." Snigdha gasped.
" Right now Snigdha, I... I don't know if I have the right but all I want to do is kiss these lips of yours." He said in a husky voice.
As he was about to swoop down to capture my lips someone cleared their throat in the background. They jumped apart. Snigdha was blushing profusely.
"Can we go in Singdha?"Radhika asked in a teasing voice.
"Y...yes let's go." Snigdha stammered as she ran inside.
Radhika looked Abhijeet as if to measure him. She then came and stood in front of him.
"Look Abhijeet, Snigdha is my best friend, we hardly know you. I don't want her getting hurt. What exactly do you want?" she asked him in a stern voice.
"Look I have no intention of hurting her. I genuinely feel like I've known her for years and ages. I know you won't believe it but it's true." Abhijeet answered. " I feel like I've been waiting for her all my life." He pleaded.
" Hmmm you better remember that." Radhika warned.
They went into the haveli and joined everyone else. Snigdha sat next to Dr Pal, Abhijeet sneaked in and sat next to her. Snigdha could feel him next to her but did not dare to look up.
" So Dr Pal where are you guys put up?" Asked Prof Dixit.
" We are put up at Fateh Niwas near Rampur Circle. Were are you guys staying?" Asked Dr Pal
" We are at Raddison Blu thanks to Abhijeet's Dad." Answered Prof Dixit laughing.
Abhijeet smiled.
" Do we have time to read the journal some more after lunch?" Asked Abhijeet.
"Well..." Mr Singh pondered looking at his watch. " We have about an hour after which I have to meet chote sarkar. That is Mr Rai's son." Answered Mr Singh.
After lunch they sat in the baithak and Snigdha picked up the journal and started reading.
"It was around six o clock in the evening, when I was ready to go. Mannu had got me ready. I covered my self in a blanket and left for the Vaikunth bag which was at back of our palace courtyard.
As if the havens were out in my support it was a new moon night. There was no moon in the sky. I had a lantern in my hand. As I reached the gazebo I found him packing up and down waiting for me.
As soon as he heard my anklet he turned around to look at me. I walked slowly up the stairs, he extended his hand and I took it. He slowly pulled me to him.
" What have you done to me Kuwari? I can't seem to think about anything other than you." He said as he carressed my hand with his thumb finger.
I felt a blush creep up my cheeks. I looked down at our joined hands, they seemed to fit perfectly in his.
" Your parents are here." I said softly.
" I know. They are here to set our roka date." He answered.
" Are you excited?" he asked me again.
I couldn't answer as my heart was beating very fast.
" I am. I can't wait to make you mine." He whispered in a husky voice.
He pulled me closer, now I was in his arms.
" You have no idea how much I'm trying to control these feeling in my heart. But it seems to be a loosing battle." He whispered into my ears. I felt a tingle run down my spine.
" Kuwarsa" I whispered. " What are you doing?"
" I just want to hold you in my arms for ever."He answered.
There was the sound of someone coughing, we sprang apart.
" Kuwari sa it's time we left. Everyone will be looking for you." Mannu informed bowing to us.
I started to leave reluctantly. Then I stopped.
"I...I...I will wait for your letter." Saying I ran off."
Snigdh felt Abhijeet's hand on hers. Her heart was beating fast.
"It I'd quite late we should be returning to the city" said Dr Pal.
"Well..." Radhika started tentatively. " Mam can we guys have some time to ourselves around the city I mean."
Abhijeet squeezed Snigdha's hand under the table.
" I have a rented car, I'll make sure they reach the hotel safely." He chipped in.
Dr Pal looked at Prof Dixit.
" You can trust my boys. They are all decent boys." He appeased her.
" Ok you can go but don't stay out too late. Our jeep will drop Prof Dixit." Dr Pal agreed.
All the youngsters cheered loudly as Snigdha and Abhijeet wove there fingers together and looked at each other.
They boarded there respective cars and drove off. Abhijeet who was driving looked into the rareview mirror at Snigdha and smirked, who gave a sly smile and looked away.
