Naruto's head pounded with pain as he slowly regained consciousness. He groaned and tried to sit up, but found that he was tied to a chair. The room around him was dimly lit, with only a single flickering candle casting shadows on the walls.
As his vision cleared, Naruto could make out a figure standing in the corner of the room. It was a tall, imposing man with long white hair and piercing blue eyes. Naruto recognized him immediately as Uchiha Sasuke, his former teammate and friend.
"Sasuke, what the hell is going on?" Naruto demanded, his voice hoarse.
Sasuke stepped forward, his expression cold and distant. "I'm sorry, Naruto. But I had to do this."
"Do what? What's going on?" Naruto struggled against his restraints, but they held firm.
Sasuke sighed and pulled up a chair, sitting down opposite Naruto. "Lady Tsunade knew too much. She had information that could be dangerous in the wrong hands. So, I had to make sure she wouldn't talk."
Naruto's blood ran cold. "You...you kidnapped the Hokage?"
Sasuke nodded, his eyes unforgiving. "I had to. And now, I have to eliminate you too, Naruto. You're too close to discovering the truth."
"What truth?" Naruto asked, desperation creeping into his voice.
Sasuke leaned in close. "The truth about the Uchiha clan. About the coup. About what really happened all those years ago."
Naruto's mind raced. He had heard whispers about the Uchiha coup before, but had never been able to confirm them. Was Sasuke really involved?
"What are you talking about, Sasuke? What did the Uchiha clan do?"
Sasuke's expression twisted into a scowl. "The Uchiha were planning a coup d'etat. They wanted to overthrow the Hokage and take control of the village. But the plan failed, and the Uchiha were wiped out."
Naruto's eyes widened in shock. "Wiped out? Who did it?"
Sasuke looked away. "It doesn't matter. What matters is that the truth stays hidden. And you, Naruto, are getting too close."
Naruto struggled against his restraints once more, but they wouldn't budge. He was trapped, with no way out.
Suddenly, there was a loud crash from outside the room. Naruto and Sasuke both turned towards the door, but before they could react, it burst open and a group of ANBU agents stormed in, led by Shikamaru.
Sasuke stood up, his hand reaching for a kunai. "It looks like I'll have to eliminate you all after all."
But he was too slow. The ANBU agents moved in unison, their movements precise and deadly. Sasuke was outnumbered, and soon he was overwhelmed. He fell to the ground, defeated.
Naruto breathed a sigh of relief as the ANBU agents untied him and helped him to his feet. He looked down at Sasuke, his former friend and teammate, with sadness in his eyes.
"Why, Sasuke?" Naruto asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Sasuke glared up at him. "Because the truth can be dangerous, Naruto. You should know that better than anyone."
And with that, Sasuke closed his eyes and fell silent. The Uchiha's secrets would remain buried, at least for now.
