Oh, how I longed to be a juice
Sweet nectar for the thirst to soothe
A banana ripe and yellow
Destined for a blender, mellow
I dreamt of being pureed
Into a liquid gold, imbued
With my essence, pure and true
And quenching thirst, all anew
But alas, my fate was sealed
As I was taken to be peeled
And sliced into a batter mix
My dream shattered, crushed to bits
I was no longer a juice to be
But a part of a cake, you see
Baked and frosted, lovely and grand
But not the drink I had planned
So here I am, a slice of cake
Still sweet and tasty, for heaven's sake
But my dream of being a juice
Will remain a longing, a truce
For though I'm now a cake so sweet
My heart still beats, juice to meet
Perhaps in another life, I'll be
A banana juice, forever free.
