Chapter 198 - I Am Different

Alan POV

The cold feeling of Jette telling me... I copy Kim Yong. The devastating realisation of it as The woman who manages the mercenary group in Kim Yong's, showed me my true emotions and memories correlating to them.

I was knocked out cold for four days after my official meeting with this woman. Coupled with my group slowly melting to the atmosphere in the mercenary group... I am left behind in my personal development.

'I see Kim Yong as the perfect transmigration of a person, smart, strong and using everything to his advantage'

To be honest, I wanted to be this perfect being Kim Yong is. Especially when I remember my past life, the demon lord or the worst criminal in our world was so strong he beat all the heroes and decimated an entire continent.

Obviously, was he blessed with a good ability that can topple countries easily... He must have not even had a heart to begin with, as he killed innocent people like they are flies.

'My family wasn't left out... and they were just flying in a damn plane to New York'

He was the reason I started to write this cursed novel, I wasn't able to move my body as much as before, my condition worsened, and to top it all of my ability manipulated my memories.

... I don't know what is real or what is fake in my memories, except that this is my Novel that I wrote and that I had a condition that my weak bones can break or fracture by a certain amount of pressure.

Everything else in my memories feels alien to me, my family, my life before the condition affected my daily life, The fights between the heroes and the demon king.

... One thing is still true in my memory, the hatred towards the Demon king for killing my family and eradicating the continent they wanted to live on.

The more I step in the path of a phoenix, the more it gets clearer to me... I manipulated my own memories to fit my fantasy of a wonderful life in another world.

This Novel... was my safe space, I wanted to let them suffer like I did.

... I wanted to let them find hope that I couldn't, in another world after Earth got destroyed. My stupid imagination of a great story, made these people suffer gruesome fates.

The Protagonist who never really loved a person like before. The deuteragonist never healed from the suffering he received from the demons-wait... he should have already appeared.

'Or... the third transmigration took over his body and succeeded in fusing demonic energy and mana'

I finally opened my eyes, the bright ceiling doesn't fit the dark theme this mansion has. To my right is a window with the view to a field of magical plants in various colours... planted in a black dirt with dry blood staining it.

"This is really a strange sight to see"

I shared my thought, the silence the only thing replying to me. A small yellow fire with a hint of gold in it emerged in front of me. The warmth of it spreading through my entire body, feeling rejuvenated by it.

"Pegasus-"

"Master, I also want a name"

'What are you talking about?'

I transmitted my thought, and she seems to be angry about my question. Her small fire burned a bit brighter, slowly heating up the room.

"The golden fire and the azure blue fire have names, I am the only one who doesn't have a name!"

'The azure blue fire has a name?'

No doubt now that the azure blue fire is an ego of the old times like Casein. I pushed the Azure blue fire to the back of my head, and try to think of a good name for the holy fire.

'She could be considered god's gift, so let's choose this name'

I glance at her small human form, in the fire, with sparkling eyes staring at me. In addition to the two strong presences slowly nearing the room.

"I name you Christa, since you are to me a gift from god"

'so tell me, what did they do the last four days'

Christa, happily flies around the room while telling me every detail of what they did the last four days.

'... Wow, this is efficient and good training'

They met Kazuo and Leyna, who were hunting demons with Lucas that has this unique fire. Kazuo and Leyna hunted demons on C- rank, who all come towards one in groups of 10 or more.

Then did they tell my group to also hunt demons in bigger groups since they are more people. As a result, everyone needed to deal with three demons of C- rank, almost getting killed in the process.

After their failure, William, who is an expert at slaughtering demons, told them their mistakes. They trained for three days straight, stamina and concentration. Thus, today is for them a chill day to relax and regenerate their muscles.

'Why did I wake up a few minutes ago!'

She also told me that the Boss knew when I will wake up... and ordered them to throw me in the demon field. She also ordered my group to join me a day later.

"Oh, He is really awake"

An orange haired man, with red eyes that seem to soak in blood so clear red are they, and he is huge, probably 2 metres or a bit more. His muscles are hitting against his skin, visible to everyone, his insane muscles.

"Yes, Mr. Lexia... but why am I in this mission?"

A slightly taller guy than the first stands in front of me, a large shield in his left and a small one in his right hand. Black hair and white pupils with a black iris as eyes, also his slight tan skin adds to his charm.

He seems timid and shy, but his mana let one know otherwise. It is firmly pulsating out of his body, moreover ready for the battle.

The orange haired guy fixes his eyes on me, a familiar smile plastering his face.

"Hey, I am the one you accused of kidnapping you, William Lexia."

He pushes the taller guy than him towards me, making me realise he is at least 5 centimetres taller than William. He tries to bow with his huge shield, a simple metal shield as tall as a door, and tries to greet me with respect.

"I am greeting you, Friend of our boss and one of the noble species future king. My name is Sven Halvor, the unbreakable shield for Forgotten"

'So he really recruited him'

He recruited people, who were destined to die or fought for a greater purpose later on. Sven was meant to die while protecting a city for a day against multiple SS and one SSS rank, the survivor who escaped told hero tales about the unbreakable wall.

Lucas was destined to die because of the clash of his bloodlines and weakened the human side considerable, since the city he took with him is Lojodon.

Now, two of these characters are in this mercenary group, having better resources as well as higher survival chances against the demons. Besides, William should have died of exhaustion after fighting in the great demon invasion of earth in the novel, giving Ben enough knowledge, he wrote down in his diary.

"We will take you to the demon field, hold out as long as you can without using your other powers"

I staggered a bit by standing up, fearing they know about the various souls in me.

"Our boss wanted us to tell you this"

William his words sound harsh and direct, on the opposite we have Sven who sounds soft and hides his real feelings. William laughed at my reaction and Sven shook with his head, seemingly astonished I am so easy to read.

40 minutes later

We arrive at the demon field. The ground is a disgusting dark red, closer to maroon mixed with blood. Furthermore, the disgusting smell of rotten corpses and blood, made me taste in my mouth iron and rotten eggs.

The field is a desert. Trees looking like spruce who hunted humans and squished them to death, while keeping the screaming faces of pain on them. Blood looking lakes and rivers stretching through the entire field. The plants growing here try to eat and move through the desert. Mutated animals, looking gross, wandering the large field.

Demons without intelligence and with a bit of intelligence are fighting. Corpses resurrect to become of demonic nature... similar to the Elves who got resurrected by the demonic energy.

"So have fun fighting these Demonic elves"

^Bam^

'Ouch!'

He kicked me so hard, I blacked out for a second. I tried to regain my composure pretty fast to not hit the ground as hard as possible.

^whoosh^

"GRR!"

Mutated werewolves noticed my presence as I stabilised my fall with my fire wings.

"Good luck holding out one day. Don't worry, we will save you if you are close to dying"

And this changed my own perception of myself a bit, since I need to trust myself more than anyone right now... If I want to survive it.
