An awkward atmosphere settled between Diana and Helena. They exchanged glances without speaking for a few moments.
"Ruby, let's go home," Diana invited Ruby. She was reluctant to say anything to Helena. However, she felt uneasy because they were in public. It wouldn't look good if people saw her not acknowledging Helena.
"Forgive my daughter, Your Grace. She's just a kid," Diana said with a respectful bow. "Don't take her words seriously."
Ruby's face turned pale. She thought she would be able to accompany Raphael to Erast, but why was her mother against it?
"Mother, this isn't fair! Raphael gets to go to Erast, so why can't I?" Ruby asked with a pout.
"Ruby—"
"Diana, I can take Ruby with me," Helena said casually. She looked at Ruby, who was upset because she was being prevented from getting what she wanted. "You know she won't be a bother to me."
