Despite the deep gash in her head and the wound in her thigh, Darnny was miraculously saved. Blood seeped from both wounds, staining her clothes and the ground beneath her. She pressed her trembling hand against the wound, trying desperately to stem the flow of blood. Each pulse of pain made her feel faint, but she refused to let herself succumb. Her hand shook with effort as she fought to hold on to life.
Darnny was blind; she couldn't see anything, but she did feel her other senses become more active than before. She could hear some things that she hadn't heard before. She could smell something from her left direction. She turned her head and walked slowly in that direction. In that direction, she also heard something.
