A sharp "slap" echoed through the room as Madelyn slapped the bodyguard across the face. "You molested me," she accused, her eyes glaring at him.
"I didn't," the bodyguard defended himself, holding his stinging cheek.
"Move," Madelyn commanded, brushing past him.
Turning her attention back to Louis, her demeanor changed instantly. With a saccharine smile, she chimed, "Louis, what a coincidence. Are you here for charity too?"
Louis's handsome face remained expressionless as he slightly lifted his chin. Pointing at Alicia, he said, "It's my wife who's here to donate."
Madelyn was taken aback, the smile on her face freezing in place. "You're back together?" she asked, disbelief coloring her voice.
Louis shrugged nonchalantly, "Whether we're together or not, it's none of your business." His voice was distant, cold, and dismissive.
