"I must be annoying! I just wanted to impress you. My secretary advised me that I should show off my wealth and you would come drooling, it failed again.
He told me you gave him a cheque for the dress and hairpins that I bid for personally at an auction.
He then told me I should let you go regardless of the debt; you would be impressed with my kindness. You again dodged it.
I gave up and openly confessed.
I heard girls like guys who take the initiative.
You are ignoring me constantly; I have already trampled my dignity.
Miss Shu! You are so clueless.
Don't you know you are hurting my ego?" he spoke in his husky voice.
However, no matter how sentimental his words were, his eyes were colder than the warmth of his voice. She was unmoved because she could read them easily.
The wind was still blowing but this time she wasn't standing in the way, but rather looking up to admire the power it held.
"You lost your composure, Master Qu, it doesn't suit you!" she ruthlessly commented, hinting at a rejection.
"What? Loving you?" he replied with that straight face, so smoothly without any nervousness.
It was a direct confession again.
"I am sorry! I already handed you the IOU and you accepted it, you have no choice but to stick to it. Even if you want you cannot use me as your toy.
I was saving your face over and over again, because of your utmost kindness and trust.
However, you are pestering me, you know I have no patience for such kinds of stuff," she stood up, her legs were numb.
She punched them lightly to wake them up and looked at the exit door. Turning to leave, she inhaled a long breath.
"I know where you get the money from, I am not after your fortune, as I have enough, all I want is your love," he pleaded, raising his chin to meet her eyes, which looked in another direction.
"What did you say?" she questioned, focusing on him.
"You are Shu Shen, the mysterious chairwoman of the Shen group, am I right?" he spoke, his eyes feeling heavy and so did his heart.
"I know you know who I am. From the appearance of it, we can say to be a perfect couple because I admired you for your talent as well.
But after today's incident, there is no future for us, not this lifetime or the next," she spoke firmly.
"Why can't we?" he yelled, seeing her stepping towards the exit.
"Two rulers can never love each other; we have a world of our own. Besides, you almost bought me as a slave, even if I marry you, there would always be a guilty consciousness haunting me.
For me, you are my enemy, I can never reconcile with you.
Today, not only did I become a laughingstock, but I lost my dignity. My clean reputation is also ruined.
I'd rather not marry than marry you.
I would never even think of it even if you are the last man in the entire universe," she replied in a sharp piercing tone.
Her disappearing cold back left him bewildered.
"I would have never fallen for you if I knew you were such a heartless woman," he yelled, standing up and turning to her.
"Master Qu, I guess you just had an epiphany. Think more carefully!" she replied.
Shu Shen marched to the other side of the deck, she was fuming and wanted to get away from him and the atmosphere that tensed her.
"Don't you know my aunt? She will rip off your jaw if you dare to harm me!" It was Shu Shuan screaming, filled with disgust and hatred.
No sooner did her voice reach her ears, Shu Shen ran in the direction from where it was coming from.
"Shuan'er??" she called out her name, attracting the attention of two men who had pinned her to the floor and were about to molest her.
Her eyes burned like fire, she turned crimson from rage, clenching her fist, she gave them a deadly glare.
"How...dare.....you.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she yelled like thunder.
She marched to them swiftly and slapped one of the men, wearing casual clothes, from his looks, it seemed he had a strong and wealthy background.
But who cares?
Shu Shen turned to the other man who had fastened her niece's hand to the floor with his big palms, she kicked him with her right leg.
He fell hard on the floor, letting Shu Shuan free, panicked, and traumatized, her aunt helped her up, and she immediately hugged her.
"I was scared!" she sobbed, thankfully those men didn't get a chance to harm her. Shu Shen patted her back and hugged her back.
"It's okay! You are fine now! I am here!" she whispered, comforting her.
She could hear the heart racing against her niece's bosom, Shu Shuan was trembling like a drenched cat.
After a long pause, she asked furiously, "Where are your father and grandfather?"
"We are here!" a unison voice called out, grabbing their attention.
Shu Shen scanned the deck; however, nobody could be seen, however, her gaze fell on Shu Shuan who ran towards the railing and looked down.
"They are here!" she called out.
Shu Shen helped them up, and as they were tied with rope, hanging there waiting for a big to eat them up in the darkness of night.
"Shu Shen?
How come you are here?
Shouldn't you be with him?
Did he permit you to roam around? or you ran away?" Shu Yu asked, recovering from the shock.
"Shuan'er, your father is a rotten egg, always remember!" She ignored him and sneered, turning to her niece, she spoke again, "What had happened?"
"These two men asked my father to sell me to him for twenty dollars, and then they argued and obviously you know they hung them down and attacked me," she explained, bawling.
As soon as Shu Shen heard her, it seemed she was possessed, one could see, her eyes burning again like fire, she was fluttering in anger, a wave of radiation emitting from her body.
She turned to the men who were lying there unconscious, with just one slap and a kick and they fainted, but she wasn't done yet.
Just then her eyes fell on a group of men surrounding her again, and it was her second time on the same day, "Catch her! She was the one who killed our young master!" one of them yelled.
Before she could make a move, someone behind her wrapped her neck with a rope, she was suffocating, trying to catch her breath, as the person dragged her all the way to the rolling.
Just then Master Qu appeared at the scene where Shu Shuan was sitting with her hair disheveled approached by a group of men, and as he ran his eyes to scan the surrounding, he saw Shu Shen struggling for her life.
He jumped to the scene and handed his jacket to Shuan and asked her to retreat to a corner, and then avoiding the group of sturdy men, he was about to stride forward towards Shu Shen, but someone attacked him.
He flipped and gasped as he landed on his two feet, those people charged at him, and before he could spare some time to glance at Shu Shen, a sound froze his body, and his face turned pale.
"He threw my aunt in the water!" Shu Shuan yelled.
