In most ethnic groups, Babaylans are predominantly female.

Among the minority of male-most belonged to a higher class of Shamans... The feminized men dressed as a women.

The feminized men assumed the voice, mannerism, hairstyle and can even marry with same sex.

They are treated as women and considered comparable to biological women way back.

Babaylan uses talismans, potion and charms for their work. They are also great in physical fighting.

But all Babaylans glory ended when the Spaniard Empire took over Philippines.
