The night was quiet and still, but for the young man, it was a restless one. He found himself suddenly awakened from a deep sleep by a nightmare, one that would haunt him for nights to come.
"Being Filipino is already a nightmare, why should I experience this..." he muttered to himself
In his dream, he appeared to be in a long dark scary hallway that seemed to stretch out endlessly before him. The walls were made of stone and seemed to pulsate with an eerie energy that made his skin crawl. The air was thick with the stench of decay and the sound of his footsteps echoed through the darkness.
[ grrrrr...huff...grrrrr...huff ]
As he went down the hallway, he felt a monster lurking behind him. He could feel its hot breath on the back of his neck and the sound of its guttural growls filled his ears.
He froze on the spot for a second, he can hear his heartbeat beating very loud and fast
"Im screwed," he said as sweat appeared on his head
He knew he had to run, so he sprinted as fast as he could, trying to put as much distance between himself and the creature as possible.
huff~huff~huff...haaaaa~
As he ran, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest.
"Haaaahh, why do I feel like I'm panicking...I don't know what the hell is that creature but I gotta wake up somehow from this nightmare"
He just continued to run without turning his back, he didn't know what was chasing him, one word is just in his mind, it is to SURVIVE
'Arghh, come on this is just a nightmare, why do I feel like it's real, I am even feeling tired right now
It was a straight hallway, and he didn't need to worry about any obstacles, so while running he closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, taking deep, slow breaths until his heart rate began to slow and become calm.
"for God's sake, please stop chasing me and just DISAPPEAR "
wooooshhhhh~~~~
Feeling the gust of air, he opened his eyes, the monster that was chasing him had disappeared.
"What the" Relieved from the unknown monster, he is amazed by what just happened
"Maybe I am Lucid- No No, this is just a dream and moreover a nightmare on top of that, it was probably a one-time thing but that doesn't explain why I feel emotions right now, I feel kinda tired~, I wanna wake up soon..."
He realized then that he had some control over this nightmare but just as he began feeling a sense of relief, another monster appeared out of nowhere, even more, terrifying than the first.
[ gggrrrhhhh ]
"Not even making me rest!!" he shouted as soon as he felt the monster approach him, not even a chance of looking at it, he began running again
His breaths came in ragged gasps as he tried to control his fear.
"DISAPPEAR! DISAPPEAR! why won't it work!?" desperately and panicking voice
"huff~huff~hufff I'll just do what I did earlier, first is to become calm and DISAPPEAR!"
It didn't work, he thought of other things
"It was really a one-time thing, well how about this"
He focused his mind and thought of any weapon he could use to fight the monster as he remembered the movie he watched. In an instant, a gun appeared in his hand, to be precise it is K100 Tactical Pistol.
"Take this!!" he shouted
He pointed it at the monster and fired
Bang!
The creature slumped to the ground, lifeless. This time he had a chance to take a look at the creature
A creature that is perfectly fit to chase someone in a hallway is a humanoid creature with long, spindly arms and legs, and a gaunt, skeletal body. Its skin is a sickly pale color, and its eyes are sunken and dark, giving it a menacing appearance. The monster's limbs are elongated, allowing it to move at a speed a human sprint, almost spider-like, along the walls and ceiling of the hallway.
'Ughh my stomach feels funny- Blargh! Blargh!' he puked at the sight of it
"So when will I wake up..." feeling very very tired as if he would collapse anytime
But even though he had defeated the monster, he still couldn't escape this nightmare.
" I hope there'll be no more monsters like that appearing, controlling this nightmare is really tiring" he spouted hopelessly
For the last time, he took control of the dream itself, to shape it into something that was no longer a nightmare. He closed his eyes and concentrated, picturing a whatever peaceful place in his mind.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Like a mirror, the dark endless hallway started to shattered while his eyes are closed he is welcomed by a new whole scenery
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a beautiful field, surrounded by gently rolling hills and bright, colorful flowers. In the distance, he could see a young short woman swinging on a playground swing. She had long jet-black hair and was wearing a white dress, and she looked up at him and smiled.
"#####...? How are you here?" he asked
"..." ##### stared at him
He walked over to her, and for a moment, he forgot about the nightmare he had just faced. He felt a sense of peace wash over him, and he knew that he had some control over his dreams, that he could shape them into whatever he wanted.
But when he was about to say something to her, he collapsed and woke up to reality. He opened his eyes and found himself back in his own bed, safe and sound. The nightmare was over, He had experienced too much in that nightmare, who knows if that nightmare is just the beginning of a one-time event for him but WHO KNOWS?
Just as he stood up, stared at the clock that shows the time [ 3:15 am]
"3 am, Ah what a cliche time for a horror event," he said to himself
After that, he collapsed in his bed and had a peaceful sleep without a nightmare.
