Chapter 9 - Chapter 09. Hidden Malicious Intent

A few moments after the medical staff had left, the door to the room opened again, revealing two beautiful women. There was a middle-aged woman who appeared young, and a girl about her age holding a bouquet. Their expressions showed surprise at seeing Violla standing in front of the window.

"Violla..." one of them immediately approached her and looked her up and down.

"Who are you?" Violla asked, frowning.

"Huh?" the two women exchanged glances.

"I feel sad. You've been lying in this hospital for a year, and when you wake up, you don't recognize us anymore," said the middle-aged woman in front of Violla, holding her chest and looking very sad.

"Violla... Don't overreact and stop pretending," the girl next to her interrupted.

"Sorry, but I don't know anything about you," Violla replied.

"Do we have a close relationship? Please tell me. I don't remember anything after waking up," she added, trying to explain.

The two women looked at each other.

"Mom, it seems she's experiencing amnesia," the girl whispered.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, dear, for not understanding your situation. I'm sad that you can't remember anything," said the middle-aged woman.

"I'm Stefani, your mother, honey," she added.

"And she's Byanca, your sister."

Violla remained silent and did not respond. She did not know how to react to her two family members.

"Has Erik been informed of your condition?" Stefani asked.

Violla shook her head. "I don't know, Mom."

Meanwhile, Bianca walked to the side of the room and placed the bouquet she brought on the table.

"If you're my mother... Where's Dad? Why are only you visiting me?" Violla asked, her gaze very innocent.

With a heavy sigh, Stefani replied, "You and your father had an accident last year, dear. Your father was seriously injured, and he didn't make it."

"Don't be sad. There's still me. Your sister and I will take care of you, dear," she added, then hugged Violla and patted her shoulders as if trying to give her comfort and calmness.

Although all her words sounded sad, no one noticed the cunning smile on her face.

'It seems that from now on, taking control of the Anderson family's wealth will be very easy,' Stefani thought to herself.

On the other hand, Violla didn't feel anything. There was no feeling of sadness or happiness. She just felt sorry for the previous owner of the body.

At least now some people love her very much. With their presence, maybe living life on earth can be easier for her.

"I know that you've lost your memory. You can be sad, you can cry, my dear. I also feel heartbroken about the loss of your father. But this is all God's destiny. As human beings, we cannot reject it, and we can only live through it," Stefani tried to comfort the girl.

"Have you eaten yet?" Stefani asked when she didn't get any response from Violla. Then she looked around the room and found a tray of untouched food.

"Byanca, come out and buy some food for your sister. The food in this hospital is very boring."

"But, Mom..." Byanca wanted to protest, but when she saw her mother's sharp gaze, her words stopped, and she nodded.

"Okay. Wait for me, Violla," she said and then walked out of the room.

"Thank you, Mom," Violla said with a smile on her face.

Seeing the girl's response, it seemed very calm. Stefani knew Violla had amnesia, but when someone knows that their father has passed away, they should feel sad, no matter the situation.

But Violla's response was unexpected.

Stefani's smile returned to her face. All this time, she had restrained herself and treated Violla very well, and now that the girl had amnesia, it seemed like this time, God was on her side.

And she was very confident that having all the Anderson family's wealth was only a matter of time.

"You should rest on the stretcher, dear. You've just come out of your coma, and your body will easily get tired. Don't stand up or move too often. Your body is still stiff, and I think it needs some exercise to get your muscles and bones back to normal," Stefani said when the bedroom door was tightly closed.

"I'm fine, Mom. Don't worry," Violla replied.

Stefani shook her head. "Come on, I'll help you get back to the stretcher. You need plenty of rest. Don't push yourself, dear. Oh, I almost forgot, has Doctor Daniel checked on your condition? What did he say?" Stefani hugged Violla from the side.

"He's going to do a CT scan and MRI on me this afternoon, Mom," Violla replied. She never received this much attention in the Alpha Centaurus kingdom. Her parents were always busy with the affairs of the royal palace, and they had limited time for her.

Her life in the royal palace was too rigid, as was her time in the academy. Everything was lived by the rules, which she found very boring.

"Be careful, dear," Stefani said as they arrived at the stretcher.

Violla smiled. "Thank you, Mom."

"Don't say that. I'm your mother, dear. It's only right for me to do things like this for you. Don't hesitate," Stefani replied. The middle-aged woman tried to show her best attitude to Violla to win her heart and attention.

"This morning, I saw the news on TV that a meteor hit this hospital building, dear. I was worried about you and came to visit you immediately."

"Seeing you awake from your coma makes me very happy," Stefani said again.

Violla remained silent. The middle-aged woman treated her very well, and she felt very grateful.

"Mom..." Violla's voice sounded hoarse.

"What's wrong, dear? Do you need something?" Stefani stroked the girl's hair.

"I've met my family, except for Uncle Erik. Can you tell me a little bit about him?" Violla asked.

"Erik?" The smile on Stefani's face suddenly disappeared.

Violla nodded.

An evil glint appeared in Stefani's eyes, but Violla didn't notice it.

Stefani sighed heavily. "Dear, I want to warn you. Be careful with that man," she said, her eyes starting to tear up.

Violla furrowed her brows. She didn't understand her mother's meaning. Be careful. For what?

"That man is a stranger, dear. He's not your father's biological brother. Your father just took pity on him and made him his younger brother, giving him the right to enjoy the Anderson family's wealth," Stefani began to tell her.

"That man is very cunning and greedy. He does everything to harm your father, dear. He's been kind to you all this time because he has evil intentions. He wants to take control of the Anderson family's wealth," she continued.

"The car accident last year that took your father's life is closely related to him," now Stefani was crying.
