"You want me to do what?!" Ryan asked as his jaw dropped.
He knew that Nathaniel would send him on a difficult task, but what his brother-in-law was asking him to was just bat shit crazy.
"I want you to run an investigation into my inner circle," Nathaniel said calmly as he clasped his hands and placed them on the desk in front of him.
He was a kid compared to everyone else around Nathaniel.
He was inexperienced next to the arsenal of talents that constantly surrounded Nathaniel De La Rue.
"I'll fail," Ryan gasped.
Nathaniel had explained to him just how serious and important his task was.
A traitor, that's what Nathaniel was looking for.
A traitor among his most trusted people, someone who had enough access to information that could horribly hurt not just Nathaniel but everyone around him.
"You won't," Nathaniel said with conviction.
