To Maya's surprise, Gabriel and Eric got along so well that when it was time to finally go home both boys were crying, refusing to say goodbye.
"You'll get to play with Gabriel again, Eric," Nate said as he tried to calm the little boy down. "Aunt Celia and Aunt Maya will take him to visit you again soon, right ladies?" Nate asked as he turned to Maya.
"Of course!" Maya said happily.
If she was being honest she thought that Gabriel's interaction with Eric was for the best.
Both boys were incredibly intelligent, it was also obvious that both had limited interaction with kids their age.
"Maya," Celia groaned, shaking her head. She had spoken a little bit too enthusiastically that Nate was sure to be suspicious if he wasn't already.
"O—o—okay," Eric said between sobs.
"I'll ask my mo—Aunt Maya to call you," Gabriel promised.
Eventually Eric gave in and let his mother take him home.
