Chapter 258 - Mothers

"Mrs. Garcia, how have you been?" the real estate agent asked as she waved a little too enthusiastically at Clarisse Rue.

The woman before Maya had aged a lot. Where her green eyes once shone brightly and had a homey warmth to them, they were now dull and lifeless. Her once healthy black hair now looked lifeless as it framed her sickly face.

It took everything in Maya to not break down in front of the woman.

She felt her heart break for Clarisse Rue and at that moment she swore she would do everything to get the woman out.

"Well," Clarisse mumbled.

"Good, good," the real estate agent replied enthusiastically, it was is she wasn't even bothered by the state Clarisse was in. "Oh, these people may be your neighbors in the future."

Adeline smiled sweetly and waved, she was an amazing actress, her skill probably honed by spending way too much time with self-righteous socialites and businessmen that saw themselves as God's gifts to mankind.
