Maya blushed at her grandfather's high praise, but she kept her guard up.
She knew her grandfather well, he trained her to be an effective businesswoman and taught her how to use her silver tongue to get what she wanted.
"Don't worry, I don't blame you nor do I think that you are involved in whatever bullshit your cousin managed to stir," the old man said with a weary smile on his face.
"Thank you, dad," Edmond said as he calmed down and visibly relaxed.
He had been ready the entire time to defend his daughter. He wasn't about to allow his nephew to put all the blame on Maya when she was most likely the most innocent in this matter.
"Don't thank me just yet," the old man sighed. "As much as I don't want to involve you in this matter, but I believe that you two are the ones that can help me best."
Maya and Edmond both nodded as they waited for the old man to tell them what he needed exactly.
