"I'll take your mother and son home," Edmond said as he gave Nathaniel's shoulder a squeeze.
He too noticed the way Clark slipped away as well as the grim expression on the assistant's face.
"You don't plan on staying?" Nathaniel asked the older man.
Looking down at Nathaniel, he gave him a sad smile and shook his head. "I know you will call if you need me or my resources," Edmond told him. "Right now the least I can do is guarantee that your mother and son make it back safely to your place."
"I'm surprised you left out my sister and your daughter," Nathaniel chuckled.
Noticing the change in his demeanor, Maya turned to Nathaniel and raised an eyebrow at him.
He shook his head to say it was nothing, but she didn't relent.
"What are you two talking about?" she asked him and her father.
Edmond smiled and shook his head.
